Tonight I roasted twin chickens which I had bought from Coles two days ago. We are sitting down having dinner and DH says there's plastic in my chicken and BIL says mine too. I instantly felt terrible thinking I didn't check properly and put it in the oven with plastic still wrapped around. DH said it was actually stuffed inside the chicken where you would normally put the stuffing. Why on earth would they do this. Thank goodness neither of them swallowed it. I rang Coles and spoke to the manager who said to bring in the plastic which I kept and also the wrapping so they can check the batch number. Beware next time you are eating chicken. .
They should warn you on the packet if they do that???? I think sometimes they will put a bag of stuffing inside the chook don't they? But they should warn you!!
Glad everyone is ok .... sounds like KFC for dinner for you?
i would say its those absorbant things... if they werent seasoned(so stuffed) the sometimes put them in the hole instead(also to soak up all the water they have pumpedinto them to make them bigger....
Weird, the chickens weren't stuffed and it definately wasn't those absorbant things it was clear plastic. I'm taking it in tomorrow, we'll see what they say.
Hi,
Yep, took it back and the manager said they would get in contact with their suppliers as they now had the batch number. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.
