Yep she'll love poking her fingers into it and making squishy patterns. If you have any cookie cutters she'll probably like squishing them in it also. Cream of Tartar box recipe is the way to go.
Recipe was a success, worked perfectly and I did the half amount like you said Lenny.
She was a bit wary at first (she doesn't like having sticky stuff on her hands) until she realized it won't stick to her too much, but then she got into cutting out shapes, rolling, pressing etc.
Play dough is awesome for that age....and it grows with them as you can change what you put with it for them to play with as they grow. This age is good for cutters, rolling pins, paddle pop sticks, plastic spoons etc. as they get older you can try matchsticks, gum nuts, plastic figurines to make 'footprints', candles and patty paper 'cupcakes', glitter and scented playdough.
I must've tried a dozen different recipes before I found the Cream of tartar one....foolproof! The tmx recipe makes awesome playdough too - a friend used to make it for me
