    prune receipes

anyone got any prune receipes that would appeal to a 2 year old? I recall making prune and date biscuits in primary school but can't find a receipe anywhere on the net. HELP!

If you are still looking, I have a slice that is called a 'date crunch' which is completely delicious and I bet prunes could be used instead of dates.

    Date Crunch

    1.5 cups rolled oats
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 cup SR flour
    185g butter, melted
    2 green apples, sliced thinly
2 Tb chopped pecan nuts or walnuts
    FILLING
1 cup dates (or prunes) chopped
    1/2 cup water
    1 tsp grated lemon rind
    2 Tb caster sugar

Grease a 19 x 29cm lamington pan, cover base with baking paper

Combine oats, sugar and sifted flour in large bowl, stir in butter, mix well. Press two-thirds of the mixture over the base of prepared pan, top with apple slices, spread with filling, then sprinkle with nuts and remaining oat mixture. Bake in moderate oven for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Filling: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for a bout 3 minutes (or micro on high for 3 minutes) or until dates/ prunes are soft and mixture thickens slightly; cool. (I didn't cool it very much and it all worked out ok!)

    Enjoy!
