Ive always eaten fish. I think make sure its 1. fresh and 2. cooked well and it should be fine, at home.
Im a bit weary when it comes to restruants cos u dont know how its been prepared IYKWIM? Id be asking for my own dish to be made.
ok ladies, this has probably been asked 3 million times before....
i was at midwifes on tuesday and was told to not eat seafood which i knew about the crustacea but what about fish fillets?
my MIL buys me fish from the markets and i cook it at home - is that ok? and also, we are goign to a seafoos restaurant in a few weeks for DHs work and well, what can i eat?!?!?!?
since they are a restaurant that specialises they shoud be 100% fresh, can i eat like fish and chips without the dressing??????? or do i ask them to make me a chicken salad specially for me? with emphasis on washing att the greens - which ive been told i shouldnt eat in a restaurant!!! im soo confused and DH is threatenign his fellow workers not to go now because of me....
i love my fish and cant live without it...

yeah.. i think as its a deep fried dis that it would be cooked n the spot as it would otherwise become very soggy. i might ask them to cook it a bit longer... DH suggests i ring the restaurant and ask if htey have preggy friendly meals as their website says they cater for special dietary requirements..
Lisa, i think your DH's idea is a winner maybe give them a call and suss it out,if they say they cater for special dietary requirements chances are they will also cater for pregnant women .
My midwife asks me if I'm eating fish because of the good nutrients it provides in my diet and implies that I really should be eating more (because I don't eat much fish at all. Fresh, well cooked fish is important.
I think it is wise to stay away from seafood that has been stored after cooking (e.g. prawns) and the bigger fish varieties that might contain high levels of mercury. Maybe ask another midwife to clarify the seafood/fish issues for you
