Question A question I was pondering.....

Why are dried apricots & dried apples just that, but dried grapes get a special name??? I know that most of them are from sultana grapes which is where the name came from, but then shouldn't they be called dried sultanas? Same as dried cranberries are called craisins.... WHY?!

(Lack of sleep & getting up early for work do weird things to my mind!)

OK, I think Craisins is just a brand name for dried Cranberries.

What are raisins? Dried grapes, just not sultana grapes?

I think a raisin is from a red grape & sultana grapes are green one. I think!

Well I just checked & you are right LuLu, craisin is the trade name Ocean Spray gave them, but it seems to be a commonly used name as well.
