My kids have been eating food with wine in it for as long as I can remember! I wouldn't go feeding them a cold dessert with wine in it (like a trifle or similar) but because much of the alcohol is burned off during cooking, I don't mind giving them food cooked with wine.

    :yeahthat:

We've given DS wine in food from when he started eating the same foods as us, but like Lisa wouldn't give it in a dessert, only what's been cooked in food. Spag bol, casserole etc. I think the quantity of wine compared with food combined with the alcohol burn off doesn't make me too worried.

The length of cooking time also contributes to how much of the alcohol is cooked off - fast cooking times do not reduce the alcohol by much compared to slow cooking.

Ok cool Thanks girls!!! Have had slow cooker on since 1pm but will go add some red wine now as wont be eating till probably 7pm!! And chance of DS actually eating more than 3 mouthfulls is not that likely!
