I do mine much the same as ausgirl - put potatoes on to cook, brown mince and onion, add tomato paste and been stock (I don't use worschestire sauce but that might be a good idea, mmm), then I dice up a carrot or two and cook it, then add in some frozen peas and corn, slop it into a dish. Mash potatoes - dash of milk, dob of butter, salt and pepper to taste and one egg (so that it holds its shape better) and mash til creamy, smoosh the mash potato on top of the meat, sprinkle some cheese, whack it in the oven to bake for a bit and voila!
And yes, smoosh, whack, sprinkle, dash, dob and slop are all technical cooking terms
