I have seen advertised a slow cooker that you brown the ingredients in the base over the stove, then put it straight into the cooker.
Has anyone got one, or know what brand it is?
If you do have one, are they any good?
TIA

I've seen the add also, not sure how well they work but i think they are Breville??
Yep, that's the breville one! I bought a breville recently - but not the one on the add. The one on the add is quite massive, mine is 5.5 litres but the stove/slow cook one is even bigger.......we don't have the storage space. LOL. Love my slow cooker - used it yesterday for us and cooked some food for our dogs (but we could really eat it, all good stuff!) overnight. Go the slow cooker!!!
I've never once browned the meat first :P So for me I wouldn't even look twice at it.
I never brown the meat either.. so I wouldn't really go for it![]()
I dont brown the meat first either & my meals always turn out delicious!! (I actually have lamb shanks in my slow cooker as we speak!)
Personally I wouldnt get it, especially if its huge as another person said, they take up enough room as it is! (worth it though)
Hmmmm, the intructions on the slow cooker I've got (not the advertised one) suggests browning the meat first. Tho, the meat doesn't tenderise as well as it should. I think next time I'll skip the browning and see how I go! Thanks for the tip!![]()
