    Hey Liesa

    Yep...it's bad news, unfortunately!

You can only eat fully cooked eggs...

I'm like you...I LOVE RUNNY EGGS...poached eggs are my absolute favourite!

It also means you can't have things like hollandaise sauce or any recipes where the eggs remained uncooked!!!

It's been one of the hardest things to go without!!!

Can't wait to have some eggs benedict again!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, chickie!

Thanks heaps Monnie. No more poached Eggs for me. I am a big eggs benedict fan myself, have to keep that one off the menu.
Wow, only 22 days to go for you. Good luck with it.

I make my own hollandaise sauce from scratch and for the time that the egg yolk is in the pot with the vinegar, butter and lemon juice, they look relatively cooked to me, the heat that the sauce is cooked over is enough I think for the yolks to be cooked through...they do go pale yellow not bright yellow as they look raw. Thoughts?

I've been naughty and have had 3-4 minute eggs recently...I must stop!!!

For those of you who love your eggs benedict but are concerned about raw egg usage try the cheats way of making it. It's the only way I make it as I just can't be bothered doing it properly.

Use half a quantity of mayonnaise and half a quantity of cream, add some pepper and mix well. Microwave til hot enough (just a few seconds) and hey presto.... cheats hollandaise.

I've heard that all egg yolks need to be hard!

At least...that's what I've been doing...

But a hard yolk is just awful!!!

I agree. Hard yolks are disgusting. Since you are online now, would you be able to tell me how i can get the little calander on the bottom of my messages (just like yours Monnie)? I am a newbie and am not sure if or how i can do it?

    Hi Haroula
Oh no, the temptation would be way to much for me... maybe you can scramble them.. I am sure that would be ok... at least they wont go to waste.
    Happy scambling time!!!

I also love egg sandwiches. Oh, i didn't know about mayonnaise. I did hear about the sauces that they use raw egg to make them is a no go. Have you had a look at the ingredients on a mayo jar? You might be ok.... Yummo, gotta love cakes "how do you do your eggs" "oh, i actually beat them and put them into a cake!!!" hee hee hee

I think you can have mayonnaise as long as it's been pasteurised...

    I've been having it anyway...hopefully it's okay!
