Are there any rules with regards to eating runny eggs. I love runny eggs and have heard that I should only eat fully cooked eggs when pregnant?

I make my own hollandaise sauce from scratch and for the time that the egg yolk is in the pot with the vinegar, butter and lemon juice, they look relatively cooked to me, the heat that the sauce is cooked over is enough I think for the yolks to be cooked through...they do go pale yellow not bright yellow as they look raw. Thoughts?

For those of you who love your eggs benedict but are concerned about raw egg usage try the cheats way of making it. It's the only way I make it as I just can't be bothered doing it properly.
Use half a quantity of mayonnaise and half a quantity of cream, add some pepper and mix well. Microwave til hot enough (just a few seconds) and hey presto.... cheats hollandaise.
I agree. Hard yolks are disgusting. Since you are online now, would you be able to tell me how i can get the little calander on the bottom of my messages (just like yours Monnie)? I am a newbie and am not sure if or how i can do it?
i was disappointed too when i heard you couldn't have runny eggs! especially since we have our own chooks and the eggs are organic and scrumptious!! *sigh* and since then, i don't eat as many as i should...hard is yuck!

hahah yeah i have scrambled sometimes, and i boil them and make sandwich with lettuce and mayo, but then they tell me you can't have mayonnaise either! ARG! you can't win! i use them in cakes though and they turn out fab!
I also love egg sandwiches. Oh, i didn't know about mayonnaise. I did hear about the sauces that they use raw egg to make them is a no go. Have you had a look at the ingredients on a mayo jar? You might be ok.... Yummo, gotta love cakes "how do you do your eggs" "oh, i actually beat them and put them into a cake!!!" hee hee hee
