Tender Meat Recipes for Toddler and Us

    Hi,

I don't have a slow cooker just yet (will get one eventually though), so at the moment I'm trying to find 'almost' fool proof tender meat recipes that I can do on the stove or oven (whether it be casseroles or anything else you could suggest). These recipes would be both for our 1 year old to eat as well as us (don't see the point in making 2 different meals, when he can eat everything we eat now).

    Any ideas???

    Thanks,

You could probably use normal slow cooker recipes and just cook it on the stove in a big pot with a lid (might need to add a bit more liquid to it though). The best cuts for casseroles etc to get really tender meat are the cheaper cuts- like chuck steak, just don't trim too much of the fat off. Chicken drumsticks/wings are also nice when cooked in a sauce as the meat just falls off the bone, same with lamb shanks, although they are getting a little expensive these days (to think we used to just give them to the dogs!! Lol).

What about a minestrone-type soup with cubed meat in it?

all the Maggi cook in the pot recipe bases are great for that. Chuck everything into the dish and roast at 200 for 1.5hrs - fabulous.
