Bread flour is a type of flour that is generally higher in protein than your normal flour. However, you can substitute normal plain flour for the bread flour with no major difficulties, esp seeing as you aren't going to be making gourmet bread! HTH
I take a piece of white bread, cut the crusts off and roll it up until its a stick & doughy. I put it in the microwave for 1 minute and then let it cool and it usually hardens. Sometimes I put a smear of vegemite on it on the inside.

Hey Jodie,
If the recipe calls for bread flour, then just use plain flour (neither has any rising ability). I assume your recipe would have either yeast or something like baking powder in it to help with the rise.
Good luck and happy baking!
