Question what to do with half a cabbage?

    Hi all
we got our first delivery of fruit and veg yesterday.
    Love it, very excited.
The only thing is, in the box was half a cabbage and I have never cooked with one before (sounds silly, I know)
What's something yummy I can make with it?
    Thanks

Thats pretty much the same recipe as my chow mein! Just add some soy sauce

Otherwise I fry up cabbage in any sort of stirfry

Also, I put a bit of water and butter in the bottom of a pan, and put the cabbage in, put the lid on. Only takes a few minutes. Then add some fried onion and bacon! Yumm!

You could make a lovely, summery kind of 'slaw...with carrot and maybe some sesame seeds or sunflower seeds, and a lemon-olive oil dressing rather than a heavy, creamy one. Apple and cabbage are really nice together, though it sounds strange...a saute of finely-sliced cabbage, apple, red onion (add a little sugar or honey and a splash of apple cider vinegar) goes really well with pork. Cabbage is nice to add to soups as well - there are lots of things you can do with it!

Sauteed with onion and bacon in a little butter - as a side dish....mmmmm.

Cabbage is in a lot of asian dishes, things like spring rolls. It has a lovely sweet flavour, but IMO you either need to shred it finely OR cook it well. Otherwise it squeaks when you eat it LOL

Easiest thing is just to shred it, with bacon, onion, lots of butter and lots of salt and pepper, in the pan....awesome!

You can also add shredded brussell sprouts (dont all make that face at me!! lol) to that and it is fabulous...

...Though maybe one not for when you are suffering a certain phase of pregnancy where your pants make noises lol
