What do you cook when someone has a cold?

So as the title suggests, i am after other peoples get well recipies.

I always cook a chicken and veg soup with plenty of herbs, garlic and lemon juice.

    What does everyone else do?

    Yep, chicken soup here too

Tom Yum soup is great as it opens all the mucus membranes and helps clear the head. You can make it yourself fairly easy but you have to like chilli because its basicaly a chilli soup.

You can buy the paste in the supermarket, boil up some broth (veg or chicken broth is best) add a tbls of paste and add boc choy, thick cut onion, bean srouts....and you can add a bit of calamari if you want some meat in there...even chicken strips if you prefer.

Its great for clearing blocked sinus's. Kids may not like it though.

I always saute a batch of marinara seafood mix with loads of garlic, squeeze of lemon and add it into a huge can of ready made tomato soup, sprinkle on whatever fresh herbs I have. I crave this meal whenever I'm coming down with something (I think it must be the combo of zinc from the seafood and antioxidants from the tomato that does it). YUM!

    THanks Guys,

Well i have stuck to the fav this time, doing chicken and veg soup (with noodles) but will add a bit of chilli to see how that works in... MJ is the one with the cold, so i cant make it too spicy, but she does like spicy food.

Lol - pizza, that wont be happening, i know that it might make you fel better in some way, but isnt going to help

MD - marinara sounds great, might make it tomorrow.

Rouge what is chicken congee? will google it later, but i know that you are pretty good when it comes to food, so would prefer to b pointed to a recipe instead of trial and error!

    Thanks guys

I make a Mexican Tortilla soup, which is like a chicken soup with a little kick... or I make chicken n' corn soup.

Tonight (I'm recovering from a cold myself) I'm having a curried vegetable soup with lentils.

I'm not as lazy as I sound, honest I'm just pressed for time and on iPhone
