    Lightbulb 5 Minute Meals

    Share your 5 minute meals

We had one tonight, its mostly cheating but I thought I'd share anyway.

    Salmon Steaks
    Asian Crispy Salad
2 Minute Microwavable Chinese Flavoured Rice Pouch.

I heated my sandwich grill, then seasoned the Salmon Steaks, put them on to cook for 2 minutes whilst the Rice was being microwaved, then put the salad together. Everything ready in 2 minutes. And it was good. Felt like Temple food even though I cheated.

I have to say I am totally in love with my grill it cuts my cooking times in half at least.

So what are some of your 5 Minute Meals?

    *hugs*

That is a fabulous meal idea Cailin - I love it! I want to make that tomorrow night.

One I can think of which we had because we couldn't think of anything else that day was lamb and garlic hamburger patties cooked on the stove top, boiled frozen peas, and a flavoured cous-cous sachet. Sounds gross but my hubby and kids loved that one.

Keep those 5 min meal ideas coming cos that's about all I have the energy to make at the moment.....

Unfortunaltey I have no 5 min meals to share, where you don't just add hot water and a sachet to a cup
, however with the salmon steaks, I like to cook mine with a sprinkling of Morrocan seasoning from one of those little jars, and usually have one of those rice packs that take about 10 mins plus frozen vegies or a quick salad.

But I do agree that Salmon is a fantastic way to make a quick meal look fantastic. If you were having guests and wanted to impress with about 1/2 an hour of work.

Salmon steaks, with a green salad, potatoe, zuchini and carrot rosti's (food processors are wonderful) for a main.

Follow it up with betty crocker choc fudge brownines (take 5 mins to mix and can cook while your eating your main) with a dollop of thick cream or premium custard.

Takes more than 5 mins, but it can look pretty impressive!! and shouldn't take longer than a half hour.
