    what to eat????

Okay here is my prob, I am still having problems with food, I cant eat in the mornings as I am still being sick almost every morning and facing food is not an option,
I have been drinking alot of chocolate milk in the mornings as I seem to be able to stomach liquid and felt it atleast has some nourishment in it.

    my question is,

what about something like sustigen do you think that would be better for the baby, I am pretty sure there is one especially for pg, what do you think??? I am worried about not eating in the mornings I dont want to do anything that may harm my unborn child.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you say you are drinking chocolate milk, is that like milo or farmers union or something?

Sustagen or Aktavite would probably be a better alternative to those.

I would look for something that you can have while pregnant (like sustagen). Chocolate is not a healthy option, but the milk obviously is. Can you just have plain milk?

Sorry Rayray I just re read my post reply to you and it comes accross a bit abrupt, sorry I wanst meaning to sound so grrr, um yeah chocolate milk is deffinately not the best option at all, and I have felt guilty for having it as its not really a craving or anything its just a means to a quick fix kwim,

yeah Meg I think sustagan will be something good to give a go, and Plain milk is good to I just want to add something to it so that its giving me what I need so I guess thats where the sustagan comes in.

I did have 2 peices of toast this morning YAY me LOL and I was not sick hehehe, maybe its all in my head and now that I posted about it I am going to start being able to eat in the mornings LOL wouldnt supprise me atm.

tahnks for you advice I appreciate it very much.

I have found vege soups to be good - either cans or I have made up some big lots and frozen it in single serves. I too have been having lots of milk except mine is coffee so worse than chocolate!!!!

You poor chook Amy. DO you have a blender at home? Have you tried throwing some fruit into some milk and mixing it? Kind of like making a smoothie Banana is good. You can buy berry mixes at the supermarket (frozen section) and can throw them in with some milk - if you do that one add a little apple juice as it is a bit tart. By putting some fruit in you are getting extra nourishment.
From memory they give you a sustagen sample in the Bounty Bag don't they?

And if you are only tolerating liquids in the morning - have you tried some cup of soups? I know - wrong time of the day! But it might just help a little!

Hope you're over this little hurdle soon.

Amy, I remember when my Grandmother was living with us and she wouldn't eat much, my Mum got this powder from the chemist I think, which is a bit like a protein powder/meal substitute. I don't remember what it is called or even if it is still available, but I am sure there would be something similar around now. It wasn't sustagen or that kind of thing. I had a half hearted look for it recently while I was pg and not able to keep much down.
In your banana shake, also perhaps try adding some malt/ aktavite/ wheatgerm/ honey/ protein powder(I would talk to a naturopath first as there are different types)/ yoghurt, or a combination for some extra substance.
Hope you get over it all soon.
