    pasta salad
    Caesar salad
    rice salad
    waldorf salad
thai chili and cucumber salad (Pg 34 Oct 09 SFI so on Taste website)
Avocado salad with orange vinaigrette (Pg 33 same issue)
If you're doing a BBQ, what about BBQ some lamb back straps and then make a warm lamb salad?

Great thread with BBQ season approaching!

I had a nice recipe for a curry pasta salad - it had celery and... darn I can't find it... will try and see what I can find it.

It was really nice - I ended up making two as I almost ate all of the first lot

I LOVE the salad on the back of the Chang's egg noodle packet, I often bring that somewhere because most people like it.
I also get a bit excited when someone brings a Waldorf salad along.

If the weather is cooler, a roast vegie salad is great too.

That noodle salad is great. You can muck around with it heaps too - add different types of cabbage, or grated carrot, or capsicum, or whatever.
I also love doing a fattoush style salad. Garden-esque, but I use little tomatoes halved, cucumber, ripped up toasted pita bread, coriander and mint. sprinkle the whole lot with s & p, sumac and pumpkin seeds and a squeeze of lemon and olive oil. I always get "Wow! Did you MAKE that?"
Cannellini bean salad - I add whatever's going, but I love doing it with roasted pumpkin, rocket, halved baby tomatoes and basil.
Sweet potato and sweet chili pasta salad - it's fiddly but yum. Cube and roast 1 sweet potato, peel and boil another. Blend the boiled flesh with 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce and some coriander, add a little bit of lime juice, and vinegar as req'd to make it saucy. Stir through pasta. Put your roasted sweet potato cubes on top, sprinkle with torn coriander leaves. Win.
I do a pink potato salad too, which is just potatoes in my beetroot dip with baby spinach leaves.

I had a friend bring over a couscous & veg salad last weekend and it was soooo yummy. You can find the recipe in the Coles Spring Catalouge (also on the website, link is at the bottom right hand corner of the homepage) you can download the PDF file and the recipe is on page 44.

It really is a yummy light salad with lots of flavour.

    Have a great night

For all those that like changs, you can make it with different salad items I like to have in my asian salad:

    Coriander leaves
    Baby Spinach
    Chinese Cabbage
    Snow Peas
    Spring Onions
    Carrot
    Bean Shoots

I have the tupperware Julienne peeler, so I do the carrots that way. And finely slice the cabbage. When I have Snow peas I finely slice them (they've been sparse lately)

And you can also use smoked turkey breasts sliced instead of rotisserie chicken.

For a BBQ, i generally make a simple salad of cos lettuce, tomato, cucumber and DANISH FETTA YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM ... and italian dressing.

The danish feta is soo yummy in the salad. Nice and simple.

Oooh... how do you make a roast vegie salad?

I'm not a salad fan so am on here looking for ideas. My favourite is Caesar Salad and the occasional potato salad but most of the time I just eat the meat and bread!

Love vegies so thought maybe roast vegie salad might be a go!
