suse, we usually only have dessert if we are entertaining. And we entertain once sometimes twice a week. It might be cake, or even just milk and hot cookies or it might be something way more elaborate. Just depends on the time I have and the moula I have a really great peach/apricot frangipani recipe thats super easy, and you can have all the ingredients in the cupboard for emergencies all you need is custard or a good vanilla bean ice cream to go with.

    Deb posted for you hon

Oh and if you have a Coonarra/Fireplace or even a gas stove top... a quick and extra yummy dessert is smores. You don't have to be camping to have smores.

    Digestive biscuits
Lindt or thin block (like cote dor - we used to use milka but you can't get it anymore) it has to be thin or it won't melt
    Marshmallows.

Toast your marshmallow over the flame, place a square of chocolate on one digestive, top with roasted marshmallow and top with another digestive, wait for the chocolate to melt and then enjoy

Oh wow Cai, they sound great. Another really good 'campfire' or BBQ dessert is baked chocolate bananas (can be done in the oven too, but it's not the same, more because it's an 'outdoor' dessert ikywim). Really easy. Cut a slit in a banana, stuff in a few pieces of good dark chocolate (you might have to spread out the cut a bit), bake until chocolate is gooey and banana softened, then eat with a spoon and a blob of double cream.

Once we move and I have a decent oven again, I'm making a lemon tart. Oh how I miss them.

We do that with apples on the campfire. Scoop out the core and fill with chocolate, wrap in foil and bake. The apple ends up going all caramel like. YUM!!! But I'll be honest with you banana sounds better to me
