TD, if you're not averse to drinking $6 a bottle wine, try McWilliam's Inheritance Fruitwood Red. It's sooo sweet and yummy, you drink it chilled (which I love, I can't stand room-temperature wine, bleugh!), and I can sink an entire bottle of the stuff and not get up the next day hungover! The lady at the bottle-shop recommended it to me on New Year's Eve because I don't drink often and I like really sweet, sickly wines It was a good price so I gave it a go and I'm stoked with it, there's half a bottle in my fridge right now

Additional to the Cienna is Brown Brothers' (or just about anyone else's) Dolcetto and Syrah. It's quite sweet, (my dad and I call it lolly water) lightly fizzy, and goes incredibly well with asian food.

I would then graduate from one of them to a merlot.

Ohhhhh..... for a red wine. I'll just sniff the cork and be happy.
