Desperately need help...can a 7 year old get af??

Please please help...I was just getting the washing out of my bathroom & DD1's undies have brown on them, looks like blood....it doesn't look like she didn't wipe...I picked them up praying they were mine, but they aren't. They are hers.
I smelt it & it doesn't smell like poo iykwim (I know, gross, but I need to know)
I think I'm gonna cry. Please tell me this is not possible.
I tried ringing a friend to come look & reassure me, but she's not home.
I'm freaking out. This is not possible. Please... I think I'm gonna cry...

I have heard of kids getting af young but I didn't that young! hopefully it's not- but i'm also hoping the bleeding is not from something worse (don't really want to say what else it could be). i think you probably need to ask your daughter. hope everything goes ok.

ok, I just read that it has something to do with weight & that over weight kids can get af early, but DD is not over weight. She's only about 25 kilo's.

I will be asking when she gets home, but thats hours away!

My bf was 18 and overweight when she got her first period my dd 11. Its possible but i would defenetly wait and ask her she could have fallen on the monkey bars ya never know. or soemthing.

Just for the record, I'm confident there are no abuse issues going on. There are no males around at all..no females for that matter. She hasn't stayed at any friends houses lately either. No one is ever alone with her, or here late at night.
Not sure if anyone else thought it but it crossed my mind.

being a overly protective mother i did have a brief thought of that then relised my dd is so ruff when playing sports that i felt that was most likey.

I was an incredibly UNDERweight child, and I got my first AF at about 9. It was really light, and then didn't come back for about a year.

Also - I slipped while standing on a plastic swing when I was about 7 or 8, the corner got me right in the Bits - OUUUUUCHHH!!!!!! - and I ran inside to the shower and there was some blood! But I was fine. So it could be lots of things!

I'm not sure...it wasn't just a little bit. It was probably 5 cm round? If that makes sense? I know its possible, but it seems too much for a broken hymen... But I have no idea.

I also noticed a pair of her undies on the shower floor this morning...dunno if that means anything, since they are black & you wouldn't have seen anything anyway. Or if its just her being feral.

I'll be checking when she gets home anyway, so I'll know if its still there or not.

Don't worry, abuse was the first thing that went through my head! Then I thought about it & know its not possible right now.

Okay any bleeding per vagina in a child so young is abnormal. She needs to be seen as a matter of priority by a caring doctor. Yes, a uti can cause bleeding but it is usually red blood. It sounds like that's not the case. If it were me I would be collecting her from school - take her for a milkshake & investigate caringly and gently.

Yes, this is a red flag to abuse - & that's not something any Mama wants to hear. Children are not always abused by adults - children too. She could have injured herself another way... She could be beginning menses. If she is she still needs to be seen by a doctor. This is premature menstruation if she is menstruating and a paediatrician will need to be involved.

I am sorry if I sound direct. Some things need direct. Any pv bleeding in a young child is not to be overlooked. I know you are not overlooking it - just reassuring you that acting quickly is the right thing to do in this situation. Big cuddles darling this is a big one for you to deal with.

I remember an episode of House a while ago where the girl had blood in her undies, and it ended up being from her trying to shave down there.

I agree with everyone - take her to a caring (preferably female) doctor, and speak to the doctor beforehand...

I would guess its her Hymen breaking, which happens easily enough jumping round on furniture and climbing trees etc.
I had a bleed when I was about 9 or 10 and was taken to GP. I think they tested for a UTI which was negative and that was about it. They told me that I might get AF soon, but I didnt get AF for a number of years later.

I agree with the other that you should take her to the GP just to get reasurance and any further advise.

Maybe you could pick her up from school early?? cos if it is Af it wouldn't be nice for her to be at school with it. Um maybe you can pick her up at lunch time??

AF that young is possible - not great for you - but it usually doesn't start regularly

maybe ask her if she's been ok to check it's not a sign of a UTI - i know i've had a few where i haven't been in too much pain, but have had some urethral bleeding...

If they get a hold of an adult's pill and eat a few they can get AF. Are you on the pill? Are they all there?
