Well done to your DS! I can't believe no one helped you. (although my cynical side can...people can be so self absorbed these days! )

Hugs to you and your DD too! You all must have been a little scared!.

Wow! Well firstly boohoo that no one helped you that is horrific! But then Woohoo for your son! What an awesome young man!! With more mothers like you in the world, there would be more ppl that would help in these situations! And less situations like this happening!

OMG Dianne i so feel for you as you will most likely feel like it could easily happen again especially when no one comes to your aid ... i many years ago was indecently assaulted by 3 guys in broad daylight at 2pm in the arvo in a crowded place, i was with my younger sister who at the time was only 15, we both screamed for help & NOT a person came to our aid ... and to think this all happened only 500metres from a huge police station in Moonee Ponds ... so Dianne i understand how you feel, and if anything you will sadly be more aware of the nutters out there.

How proud you are of your son ... what an amazing job he did ... Sounds like he might be a great policeman in the making

....................... Did it happen in the Westfield S/C ?? (as that's where i go to shop when in Geelong)

Congratulations on raising such a brave, quick-thinking and devoted son! I'm so sorry that this happened to you though.

I'm horrified but unfortunately not very surprised that noone helped out.

What did the security/police do when they arrived? Did you and your son have to fill out paperwork? What about witnesses?

I still can't believe it happened. Looking back I probably should have just let go of my bag but it was just instinct to hang on and not let go. The police officer really praised DS which made him feel so good. They are going to go through survellance footage because even though there were so many people no one apparently witnessed anything .

    Regards,
    Dianne

Poor DD she told me later in the car that she thought the man was going to kill me. What a terrible thing for her to see happen. When we got home she was telling DH how her big brother bashed up the naughty man to save mummy .

........... so glad that the police praised your son that would have made a huge impact at his age to hear

sorry to hear the effect it has made on your DD, if anything is to come positive out of it at the very least it has made her more street wise (also to be aware of strangers) in the long run ... But i do feel for her to experience that at such a young age !!
