I find the ascent ones from the athletes foot last forever. My kids are pretty hard on shoes and even these ones held up for the entire year - they ended up growing out of them before they wore them out. They are designed like a sneaker as well so suitable for normal palyground activities etc. They are expensive at $100, but worth every cent of that.
