lulu- i'm actually a VCE business management teacher so i can help you out on this one. it is a very easy subject, but if your dd's aim is to get as high a TER as possible, then i wouldn't be taking it. it is graded down in your results so that even if she gets straight A+s, this will not contribute to her score in the same way as say A+s in physics.
the best bet would be to do a subject by correspondence, although this can be super hard- especially for unmotivated students (i don't know if your dd is this or not, but i know a lot of students have found it very challenging).

Lu, can I just say - I think it's best that she does a subject she'll enjoy, more than one that will score really highly. Just because - if she is bored by the subject, or hates it, will she care about it enough to do well?
For example, I did Chem & methods, hated them, and didn't do as well as I could have. If I'd picked subjects that I actually was interested in, I'm sure I would have done much better.
Hmmm, I'm not sure a subject like psychology would be good to do via distance.
I wonder what else would be suitable. She is already doing a maths and biology - the psychology wasn't "necesarry", and the other subject was Drama and that sounds like it would graded much the same as BM. I'll put it past her and see what she thinks.
There is an orientation next week so we will check out waht the school thinks too.
When i did high school, our school didnt offer psycology, so the people that wanted to do it when to the local TAFE and did it there, something to look at prehaps?
It sucks that student are not able to do the subjects that they want. there should be a better ways, so that all the kids can do all the subjects that they want.
I did yr11 drama, i honestly can say, if your DD is not 'into' drama, dont encourage this subject its hard enough for someone that loved it
Hmmm Lulu do you want to encourage her to have MORE drama in her life
But seriously if she isn't interested in doing drama then I would steer her away from it as it would be a subject that many of the kids would be really into. BM would probably be the better option or trying to find an external place like the TAFE that offers Psychology.
