Are you considering using anonymous donor sperm, or known donor?
Is there anyone here who is a single mum (or dad) as a planned choice? I mean, you were single and decided to have a child as a single person, with no partner ever in the picture...
Was it much harder financially do you think?
Obviously you'd need more family and friend support than a co-parent, was that hard to find?
How did you approach the uh.. "sourcing the other half of the required materials for conception" bit!
I'm just after people's experiences doing this purposely on their own.
(Have sort of cross-posted in relevant sections of the forum for each of the separate concerns I have - hope that's allowed)

Haven't even thought that far yet... I got as far as thinking anonymous would be preferable in terms of not having to 'share' IYKWIM but that I think there'd be more of a cost involved... so I'd be interested to hear people's experiences on both tracks...
(and there's also the whole (very mature) 'sperm is icky' thing because of being gay so have to say having the idea of it all dealt with in a neutral clinical setting is very appealing)

I became single when my DS2 was 12 months old. However I have met a number of people in your situation through my work (I work in family law). It's not uncommon - "sourcing" the DNA is an issue, try your local IVF clinic for starters.
Best wishes. You'll be a great Mummy!
Yeah I'm finding the sourcing to be erm.. interesting...
Thanks for the vote of confidence!![]()
