Angry sigh what do they want now??????

    Hi just a questions ladies
I am a single mum with a 18 month old.
got a letter from centrelink asking me to come for an appointment to assess whether i am still eligable for parenting payment
they have asked me to bring in i.d.
bank statements if i have utlilties accounts ect
i dont recieve any child support
because my ex is a sadist ahole.
i have asked a few ppl what they want
    different replies
some say they want her fathers name and will cancel my payments if i refuse to give it
some say to check whether i am living with a man, which i am not
i haven't done anything wrong so why do they want to see me
    it's ****ing me off!

From what I understand centrelink cant cancel your PPS if you have no father named on the birth certificate

It's a routine check, nothing to worry about. They do them randomly and periodically.

    hiya
thanks so much for the replies
just didnt understand what they want cause i havent done anything wrong
    i hate centrelink!
i'm not going to apply for childsupport
my ex wants nothing to do with her
and has made it perfectly clear what he will do if he is made to take responsibilty for a child he does not want
im not gonna wake the sleeping dragon and jump everytime there is a knock on my door.
i will never give his name to centrelink as i feel i have to protect my daughter from him.

Sounds like a crap situation but if his name is on the BC then if you don't apply for CS you won't get much from CL. If he's not i'm not sure...

No one said you did anything wrong, like I said they do them randomly and periodically. It's not personal and it's not just those on Parenting Payment.

If you don't want to give your childs name, it's up to you but your payment might be reduced for that reason.

Hey, I know it's a bit invasive but if you are receiving payments you have to get used to the fact they will check your (and everyones) eligibility from time to time.

If he's not on the BC who need to see the social worker who will ask for a stat dec to say you don't know who the father is. Unfortunately if you know his name, or he's on the BC and you DN'T claim CS, they'll usually not pay you any more than the the minimum amount.

You'd probably have gone through all this anyway, seeing as your DD is 18 months old. We went through it before we were approved for parenting payment just after Jazz was born (last year, when we were still seen as single). They tend to be on top of things like overpayment when you're not eligible etc.
