Would this work? GK and newborns

    Hi Everyone,

I was not planning on using mcn for our newborn but I have to increase my stash because I will have 2 in nappies for some time. My thinking is this...

Purchase some greenkids with bamboo boosters (I know they work and last forever) and then use the Gk on our newborn with my own prefold until bub is bigger.

My reasoning for this is that I think the bamboo boaster is very bulky and they don't dry quickly especially in winter.

Has anyone used the GK successfully on a newborn? I am worried that they are too bulky

It might be a little wide in the crotch for bubs - can you use them as covers instead and put the prefold like a normal prefold (ie, not in the pocket) and then use the pocket shell as a cover? at least then they would be able to move freely within the cover?

We did this with our newborn and it worked OK...although only when there was no other option (ie. all other MCN on the line or dirty) as it is quite bulky. He is 10 weeks now, and the GK with insert fit well.

Sounds like this option may not be the best way to go. hmmmm

Bek - I know the feeling, Im trying not to buy too much stuff in tiny sizes cause they won't be used again but at the same time, I want to make sure I've got enough nappies for 2!
