    Gunky eyes

    Hi there,

DD has had gunky eyes since just after birth (and I think she's had tears since birth too... is that strange?) and my mum says it's probably blocked tear ducts. The Middies said to use saline water to clean them, which we've been doing (with seperate cloths for seperate eyes, and fomr inside to outside), but they don't seem to be getting better. I vaguely remember people maybe squirting breastmilk on babies eyes to help treat this?
Does that work? Do I just squirt it on, then wipe it off, or leave it on for a few seconds to soak?

    TIA

Yes you can use breast milk to clear them. If that doesn't help though see a dr.

BM works wonders. I used to squirt it in then leave it there, not wipe it away other then the exces that run off.

You can also get wipes from the chemist called 'Little Eyes'....they are a saline wipe and work well too
