ive been the worst buddy im reading but not posting, finding it hard to catch up, you guys all type so much and i dont!!
shell is that book about the girl whose parent want her to dontate an organ to her sister but she doesnt want to?? if it is then the movie is due out very soon!
Kaz- you are so welcome. DP couldnt book for this weekend but I think he did for 3 weekends time. So glad J loves the Mr men. Shell- I have read all off Jodi Picoult's books. Love them. Not to keen on the movie coming out. I find that movies spoil books. I read Marley & me before the movie and the movie doesnt do it justice. Hope Emily settles for you tonight. Jols- You arent a bad buddy. How are you feeling? YOu remember that we are all here for you The book is about the sister needing to donate an organ. The parents conceive her specifically for her organ to save their first child. Such an emotional book. Tarkine- I have alot of Jodi Picoult books. I can send you some if you like. My fav ones of hers were The Pact and Salem Falls. (2 of her earlier ones). I have Plain Truth at home now, have lent alot to friends. Holly- how did today go?
Tried to give DD the Fess little noses again and she screamed at me again like I was the worst person ihe world. I cant get her to keep her head still to spray the stuff then suck it out. Oh well. She is asleep now and we did the shower steaming earlier.
Ali- I hope DD has a better night, it's hard when they are not well.
I just read a book called the memory keepers daughter-by kim edwards, very similar to jodi picoults books.
Lewis heaps better today, not as grumpy not sure what it was but think his leg is sore, he has a huge lump from his needles, didn't get it last time, my poor little man.Should I massage it?? I have heard conflicting advice?? I have not coz I thought it would really hurt him
We are getting weighed on thursday, will let you guys know, at 14 weeks he was 6.96kg!!! so I don't even want to guess how much he'll be this time, although think he has slowed down a bit on the weight gain.
I'm being a bad buddy at the moment too, I've caught up on thread 5 but now forgotten everything of course.
Det - you asked about tomorrow, I was planning on whipping up some choc choc chip muffins (yep double choc). Listen to me, what do I think I am, the next Nigella? LOL. Don't stress too much about tomorrow! We all know how busy and hectic your life is. Also, good work on starting Boof on solids!
Someone asked about books - I just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns", which was by the guy who wrote "The Kite Runner". Really good! I'm currently reading "The Slap" which is by an aussie author, not too bad.
Someone else asked about sleeping - Isabel will sometimes do 2hrs in the morning but not often. Afternoon is only ever 40mins.
Ali, I hope Ash is feeling better soon! Poor little thing. I love Jodi Picoult as well.
I don't want to see the movie either - Cameron Diaz is not old enough to be the mum, it doesn't seem realistic to me.
Appointment went okay. Rocked up there and told that we had the wrong day - Monday next week was the scheduled appointment! They squeezed us in anyway (thank God coz it took a while to get there and in peak hour traffic too). ENT specialist think surgery is not necessary but is going to consult with another paediatrician who specialises in haemangiomas and there are a few options: inject steroids into his nose to shrink it or he can take it orally but I don't think it's as effective. He is also organising a nurse to come over one night in the next fortnight to monitor L's oxygen levels hile he's asleep. So it's the waiting game for now... gotta wait for the nurse to come over and also wait to see what the other specialist recommends as a course of action. I will receive a call in the next few days apparently!
Oh and some good news...DP's cousin and his wife are expecting their first baby! Woohoo! So 2 new bubbas on the way
Holly - I am glad that you are now on track to get smething done. Keep us posted on how you go.
Ali - Most pharmacies hire vapourisers. I have one on in E's room atm as she too has a runny nose. She doesn't particularly like the Fess either. But you ahve to be cruel to be kind, and it is worth it as she breathes much easier. It is best to do it when two of you are round. Oneperson holds down their hands whike the other suctions.
Nai - Might have to look into weight waters properly. Is it expensive?
AJP - Doesn't matter that you don't post all the time. It is jsut good to hear from you when yo ucan.
OP - How is the sleeping going? Any improvement?
Pinny - Glad lewis is better today.
I have forgotten pretty much everytrhing from te other thread. Iff to bed now with the laptop to watch more of Jon and Kate plus eight on You Tube.
Hehe another quik one....Ali, definitely use the fess. I know it's hard when they carry on, you'd think you were murdering them! But the fess also stops the mucous from getting crusty and hard and that's when the breathing will be even more laboured and she'll have a horrible crusty, sticky nose.
I think I'll get a vapouriser tomorrow as well.
Rainforest - L was quite small at birth: 6lb 5oz (2.85kg)! He gained a lot o weight quickly though, he is now a little under 7kg (6.818kg a week ago).
I want to bid on some double prams from there but neither is willing to post.
I was going to see if any of my lovely baby buddies lived close so maybe they could pick it up for me and i could organise shipping etc!
