Grace Mackenzie was born 8 days early on the 1st which is when DH and I thought she'd come. She was 8lb7 50cm long and 35cm head circ. we're day five now and she is feeding well and doing everything else expected of a newborn, feeding, sleeping, crying and generally being cute!

can't wait to hear who also has had bubs in early july...

    Hi ladies, we're here too.
Oliver Ethan was born on July 3rd (his due date) after a spontaneous 3hour 10min labour. He weighed 8lbs, 52cm long and 36cm head circumference (though he came out with his hand over his head, so I reckon that should be added on!).
He's feeding like a champ and as of today is back up to his birth weight, the chubba!
My only complaint is that he will not sleep laying on his back! As soon as I lie him flat, he's awake. Have been out and purchased a "Miracle Blanket" this morning and he's napped well in it today (though propped in a bouncy chair. Shall attempt to lay him down in it tonight, *fingers crossed*.

    Hi Mummies

Amelia arrived on Saturday 4 July, two days before her due date. She weighed in at 3.9kg, 52.5cm long and 35cm head.

We are on day 5 today and she had her last weigh in with the midwives and is exactly her birth weight. She is cluster feeding at the moment which wouldn't be too bad except she feeds for hours all through the night and sleeps through the day

She looks just like her sister and I am loving how little and light she is (I forgot how small newborns are).

Looking forward to catching up on everyones news and can't wait for more belly buddies to arrive in the new thread.

I never thought I would be here!! So very excited to be a mom. Little update:
Sophie Ann born July 8th, 2009
    Weighed 5 lbs 13 oz
    19 inches long

Well things have been going well so far. We are a little disapointed as breast feeding did not work out very well. She is so little that she can not seem to stay latched on and got very jaundice. So I went out and bought a breast pump and we are solely feeding her breast milk. She loves the transition and that is what makes me happy.

Jessica - congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Keep going with the EBM!

Yay to see so many of us from the 1-15 july Bellybuddies and welcome to the new girls!

Things going well for us. Grace is feeding well, 4 hrly during the day and then 2 hrly at night! so catching up sleep and trying to work out how to change the feeding times around. She sleeps well between feeds so I can catch up on sleep pretty easily. DH is loving the cuddles and DD1 is a great helper - very good at burping Grace and fetching things for us.

Looking forward to see who else joins us!

    Hi Ladies!

So good to hear that everyone is doing so well and great to see some new faces who weren't on the belly buddies thread.

Ashley was born on Monday 6 July at 8.04 pm. He was 3.7kgs, 48cm long and has a head circumference of 36.5cms. He was born by emergency caesar 12 hours after I was induced because my waters had broken 4 days earlier.

We came home yesterday and are doing really well. It's so nice to have time with just the three of us and no well meaning midwives or visitors interupting us all the time IYKWIM. The only problem we have is that I have an inverted nipple which neither Ashley or I can get milk out of. I am able to express from it so have been doing that but I think I will see a lactation consultant next week to try and get it working better. Other than that, these first days at home together have been a dream!

    Hello Ladies,

Miss Eva was born on the July 9, at 6.26am after a 4hour spontaneous labour. Eva weighed 3.66kgs, with a length of 54cms and head cir of 34.5cms.

My labour was my hardest yet but I still managed a very active drug free labour. All thanks to midwife who followed my birth plan and did not let my stray lol!!! I went home 6 hours post birth. Miss Eva has lost a little too much weight, however my milk came in yesterday so I am hoping she has caught up.

Like Tinsel's bub Eva is sleeping all day and cluster feeding between 10pm and 5am each night. I am totally exhausted but we living on bliss atm!!!

My other girls simpy adore their sister.

Me and Phoebe checking in. Lil Miss P kept me waiting 11 days, but she is here at last.

She is a great little bubba and really the only thing ruining my nights is the pain, but everyone keeps promsing me it will soon pass. She has only been put down once since she was born which is when we discovered no one can hear her crying unless you are standing right over her! I do plan on bringing that up with the doc at her 1 week check, just in case there is more to it than she is just a tiny baby with a tiny voice. For now, she just happily inhabits someones arms.

wow - such a busy thread

after some early bf problems, things seem to be going much better (touch wood!). had a crazy evening last night when he wanted to feed about every 45 minutes & wouldn't sleep anywhere but in either mine or DP's arms. he did sleep for two hours in bed from 6-8 which was great! i just keep repeating my new mantra - they're only little for such a little time!

today we have our 2 week appt with the MHCN & it'll be our first non-family outing!

hope everyone else is going well & getting some sleep!

Sloane - I am glad you've got your bfing probs out of the way.

Miss Eva is still feeding for hours on end during the night. I think some of the sucking atm is comfort sucking too. I have decided to wake her every 2.5/3hours for feeding and unfortunately I have introduced the dummy to try and settle her to sleep. It seems that she'll sleep on me whilst sucking but once I put her to bed she screams her little heart out. I didn't want to give the dummy but at this point I need more than a couple of hours of sleep per night. On the bright side Eva has gained 50gs in 2 days.

    Hi everyone,

Our precious little man was born on 07/07 - 1 day before his due date by emer caes.

6lb5oz - 45cm long... mum and dad are very much in love.

Traumatic birth, which I wont go into detail about just yet, as I havent had a chance to de-brief yet.. but I am hanging in there. It has been a very long week.

BF is going well after a rocky start but we are now feeding well and has had good weight gain, after far too much weight loss the first three days.
