Ok, I'm confused, and the FA website isn't helping. I'm looking at putting ds into child care one day a week. Dh works, I don't, income is about $65 000.
I was told I get 24 hours of CCB. Is that per week, or per year, or what? I will get $2.60 off the cost of each hour of child care. Does that only last for 24 hours worth of care, or will that continue on? Does that mean, if care is for 10 hours a day, I pay $26 less a day?
Anyone who can shed some light on this will be very much appreciated. I'm sure it's not as confusing as I think ti is, but I can't get my baby brain round it.
It is per week hun, but it doesn't actually equate to $26 per day off. You don't get charged per hour for day care, you get charged per day, so they pay an amount which equates to $2.60 per hour for a "standard" day or something like that. It is really complicated and never works out to what you expect. When you ring a centre, tell them the percentage that you are entitled to and they can tell you what the cost is after the CCB.
Childcare centres charge per daily basis but family daycare only charge per hour booked. So if you only book 6 hours a daywith family daycare then you only get charged 6hours where with a centre you get charged the entire day no matter what.
