    Head lice

I was just wondering what products work to get rid of head lice? Its the first time I have ever had to deal with head lice, and was looking for a shampoo or fast easy product that works. I bought KP 24 foam and it didnt do anything.

Since DD is starting school next year I thought I better find the best and easiest way to deal with them.

It's all in the combing. I use a product called Lice Breaker which goes on dry hair and is like a conditioner. You leave it on for 20 mins then comb it through before washing it off. It doesn't smell at all, I find it works really well. I also use the same brand of nit comb which I have found is the best out there, it has sprially thingys on the teeth which remove eggs so well.

Yep it's the combing that does it. For my DD I used normal conditioner with some drops of essential oils added (I think it was teatree and geranium... they are natural insecticides), put that in her hair and combed with a nit comb. You need a good comb so that you can get all the eggs. I found that it took several applications over the course of a week to completely get rid of all the lice and their eggs.

    I have to agree
I have a dozen different products and find good old conditioner combed through dry hair works the best.
My daughter has lovely long thick hair and it takes over an hour to go through it with a nit comb, but its worth it. I also find that once she has a shower and rinses the conditioner out if i comb through it again before it dries i seem to get any eggs out that i missed. The conditioner doesnt kill the lice just stuns them so u can comb them out.
