DD2 goes to a great day care centre in town.
Everything has been good til they started saying that they couldn't find a payment mum had made in May through netbanking.
Then, when they mentioned it again, they also said that there was an outstanding amount of $400 & something dollars! I paid $390 last Friday!!
So they gave mum a copy of their bank details, & mum went home to search netbank again.
Then she rings me...the account numbers just given to her are completely different to the ones given to me!
Similar account name, but different bank! One is just the CC name, the other is *** trading as CC name.
The latter is the one we were given.
Now I'm confused...the credit union is run under the bank the payments are being made too. There must be an account with that name, or we should have had the funds sent back.
I just went back through my netbanking & there is around $600 missing!
Their manager is going to search through every transaction & every account of theirs & try to find it, but what if they don't? I think now I may be $200 or so ahead (not a bad thing), but if they don't find that money I'm screwed!
I won't be too happy if they don't! It was them who gave me the numbers!
I have all my reciept numbers from my payments written down. I'm pretty confident they'll find it, as it is the same branch, so I'm sure its their account, but there's still that 'things always go wrong' feeling deep down.
They'll find it. Give em heaps if they don't, and don't let them make you do the hard work. This is their stuff-up. If your mum still has the original details given to her, well, then that's some really good evidence for you to have.
yeah.. it's their mistake.. do you have all documentation they gave you, with their acct numbers etc, and also all the receipts? maybe ring the credit union and ask them who the account belongs to, i dunno if they will give you the information but maybe give them the account numbers and see who they belong to
Well they have the money. It was one of their other accounts.
I am going to have to do my maths though, coz the amount they told me I owe on Friday was almost $200 less than has been paid...if they didn't get any money til now, we should be ahead by about $180, but they are saying I still owe about $20...
BJRose - your mum can contact her bank and ask them to do a formal 'trace' on the funds she transferred. Her bank will then contact the other bank & the other bank will provide info of the account and name it was paid into and the date it hit the other account. You can then take that info to the CCcentre as proof that they have the money/where the money has gone. Don't stress, you have a receipt that indicates you have paide, the onus is on them now to locate the money.
ETA - whoops just saw they found the money...glad for that, sounds like you were really stressed!!!
Hi,
Glad to hear the money had been found. Parents need to be vigilant when paying daycare fees by DD. I have heard of scams where staff have pilfered money by giving out bogus account details for fees. Good idea to confirm numbers with the centre director.
