    is it possible..

to change the days that you receive your FTB??

my baby bonus has been processed, and i receive it on the same day as our FTB payments.. i can live with this, BUT if its possible, id like to change it so i receiev one each week, rather tha one big fortnightly payment...

dos anyone know if its possible? just thought id ask here first, to save me ringing them if its not possible at all.

Yep you can. At least you used to be able to cause I did. I used to get both my fortnightly payemtns on the same day on the same week. So one big pay and that had to last 2 weeks and it sucked (single mum, studying not working, expensive rent meant all my money was gone so quick and still had to try and live the next week)

They said they could make it so that i got one payment each week which made it easier and asked what day suited best, so yep, once upon a time you could, i'd assume you still can now!

yup - you just have to request to change your payment day - and need to be aware that, the first time you get FTB on the opposite week it will be an odd amount - as it won't be for the full fortnight - only for a week

so, if you got paid today and want to get ftb next Thursday, you'll only be paid 7 days. if you were paid last week and want to change it, they'll give you a small payment immediately (tuesday if you called tomorrow) to bring you up to date (again, 7 days) and then you'd go to one payment one week, one the other. you can ONLY change your FTB payments - baby bonus is apparently not able to be moved (which sucks for me cos i get baby bonus on monday before my mat pay from work on thurs - then the following week get bugger all FTB - sigh!)

hmm just for the record i cant change the dates she said they can change the day of payment, but they would still come as one payment.

i can live with it, but i hate budgeting fortnightly!

bull shiat!!! you can change the day you get your FTB - you can't change the day you get baby bonus. baby bonus is 13 equal payments paid fortnightly on the same day as your initial payment - and it can't be changed. you have every right to change what day you receive your FTB (but both FTBa and FTBb will be paid together)

definitely. i can understand them not moving the baby bonus as it's only for six months, and there is no budgeting around it (plus getting part payments would be a PITA) but i can GUARANTEE you can move your FTB to another day - i did it myself - i didn't want to be paid on a monday! changed it to the Thurs opposite my work mat pay

you can't split the parts of ftb (a/b) but you can choose what day you're paid on

sorry i was so abrupt earlier - i just get frustrated with consultants that don't give the right info. i have a feeling there are a lot of temps at the moment so maybe that's the problem

Thanks BG.. ill call them back in the morning and ask again!

soo much easier to budget with weekly pay rather than fortnighly!

just for the record... i called back and asked again. at first she said she didnt think she could do it, then she 'tried something' and it worked.

so i received my double payment on wednesday, next wednesday i receive one weeks worth of FTB then next wednesday will be the baby bonus, then the next week is FTB.

    ahhhh such a relief!
