Ever since I had Phoebe, I have had the worst recurring migraines.
My bloodloss was recorded as less than 500ml and my BP is 107/76 so I dont think its that. I am not losing insane amounts of sleep so I dunno whats really left. I am bfing - could it be a deficiency?
I think it's worth trying to get more fluids in. Breastfeeding can really dehydrate you and I found that each time I fed I'd just have a water bottle with me and sip as the feed happened.
Other than that, if it is really bothering you it would be worth a trip to your GP just for some peace of mind.
Inertia... Post birth there is a huge diuresis - losing all of that fluid can cause headaches as can the hormonal shift. It is not unusual. Having said that persistent and severe headaches really need to be investigated.
I can tell you personally Ihad them post birth with all of my births. Get checked honey...
You poor thing, it's so draining in the early months without migraines. Firstly, the others are probably right, most likely it is probably just hormones, exhaustion or dehyration causing the migraines, especially if you were prone to them prior to bub's arrival.
However (and I don't want to alarm you as like I said it is probably nothng), but if you are having severe headaches, especially if they are prolonged - you should go and see your GP and get checked out JIC.
I am probably paranoid because of what just happened to a good friend of mine, but better safe then sorry (she had bad headache for a few days but put it down to being just a new mum (was a week after her delivery) and so didn't get it checked out as didn't seem like a big deal but then without warning she went almost completely blind and couldn't feel one side of her body. Turned out to be a stroke, (we are at a higher risk of stroke during pregnancy, and in her case some kind of vaso-spasm Dr said happens to some women through labour caused a clot to form, and happened to travel to her brain) So any prolonged headache should always be mentioned - even though it probably isn't anything serious. Don't mean to scare you honey, but I'd encourage you to get checked out if you're still experiencing them.
