I am currently 36 and a half week pregnant with my second little boy and have had a lot of problems with this pregnancy, for starters found out I have gallstones and also have extremely bad SPD so am getting around on crutches at the moment trying to chase after my 22 month old little boy!
I am due to be induced at 38 weeks due to the severe SPD and I have the option of having my gallbladder removed straight after the birth. I am just wondering if anyone has been in this situation of having it removed via keyhole surgery and if they have were there any risks involved as it being done straight after the birth!!
I am quiet nervous about the whole thing and have been given a lot of different advice, one surgeon will only do it 6 weeks after the baby is born but another is willing to do it straight away. I don't know which option to take as i just want it all over and done with!
Soo if anyone can please help and any advice is appreciated greatly !!
I was diagnosed with Gallstones when I had my first attack when DS was 4 weeks old and I am still waiting to get mine taken out.
I am having keyhole and have to wait until I come up on the waiting list. I am able to manage mine with diet but it can be a real PITA.
I would definitely get it done. I was diagnosed with gallstones after a major attack when DD was 4 weeks old. I eventually got it removed 5 months later and hated every minute I had to live on the edge, waiting for another attack. I'd say the sooner you can have it removed the better.
I hope everything goes perfectly for you hun. How exciting that you'll be meeting your little one in 2 weeks time
