    Question Flight or Indian Pacific?

We are thinking about going over to see my bro & SIL near Perth just after Christmas for a few weeks.

Now flying is an option... Some would say the most obvious option... but...

Indian Paciic? Anyone travelled on it?
I'm looking at the cheaper options. The day nighter seats.

Has anyone done it? What are those seats like? Are they comfy enough to sleep in? Would you even consider it with kids?

I've always wanted to do one of those trips, & am thinking this is our chance. (Doesn't help that the idea of getting on a plane scares the bejeesus outta me!)

Am I crazy? With the cheaper options, prices work out about the same.

DD just went to Casino (a 12 hr train trip) on a normal economy seat, she said never again! It was uncomfortable and exhausting, one family had a baby who cried the whole time too!
Do you get sleeping bunks on the cheap option?? If not I would say no way fly.

Go the plane option! Small children + confined space = living hell.

How exciting though, something lovely to look forward to

I would definitely choose 4hrs on a plane over 4 days on a train with kids haha. There isn't even much to look at out the window is there?

Really not sure, but I was opting for 4 days in a car over 4 hours in a plane not too long ago...
