    Amber necklaces????

whats the guidelines info on them
where should i NOT and should i buy from?
    how much approximately are they?
what should i know regarding them?
Can ya get ripped off thinking ya buying something and not end up with it? This is my concern i am by no means in a position where i can afford even 20 dollars getting wasted so i was wondering if someone could point me int he right direction?! please

    thanks

You really just need to ensure that it's baltic amber and not just regular amber. Also make sure that the beads are strung in such a way as to be safe for babies - this means there'll be a knot in between each bead. I also recall reading that they are more effective if they use a pale or milky amber. Most places that make them for babies that I've seen online seem ok - just shop around for price and to find one that you like the look of.

There is a shop called Sunshine N Lollipops - they were a nappy hunt sponsor - who sell baltic amber necklaces, individually knotted, and they are the cheapest I have seen at $25-$30.

Ours is from Amber Bebe, and I think they are generally $30-$40 from there.

I just ordered one from sunshine & lollipops last week, i think it cost me $27 including postage, still waiting for it to arrive as yet. I'm pretty sure it said they were double knotted and i didn't get the magnetic claps (don't think it was available from that website anyway) only because i didn't want the necklace to come off to easily. I was thinking that if my 2 1/2 year old figured it came off my younger son i'd probably have trouble getting him to leave it alone. These things may have never happened but it was just my thinking behind it all. Can't wait until it arrives...

I just ordered one a few days ago. Its the cheapest I've seen at $15.
I was slightly sus, but thats all they sell & they say its baltic. Knotted each side of each bead & magnetic clasp.
I got the honey coloured one, other colours were $20. I'll let you know what I think when it gets here. No postage too...bonus

what are the safe design clasps?

Any clasp made to open if caught to stop strangling is recommended.

There are a number of ways you can tell. One is if you get a lighter and burn it, if it melts, its plastic, if it sizzles and smells like pine tree's then its genuine.
Or if you dip it on acetone for a few minutes, take it out and dry. If its melted/sticky then its fake. If its the same as before you put it in, its genuine.
