Wink I LOVE my new ...

    Cross-Trainer!

Oh my it is amazing! It's so light on the body as a workout but as opposed to an hours walk the 10 mins on the cross trainer actually feels like a workout.

I love the low impact as do my boobs and my back and my legs. It's exactly what I needed and I am so so SO glad I got the cross-trainer instead of a treadmill.

Ahhh it's bliss. Now I can understand fitness junkies. The way I feel after ten minutes on the damn thing - okay entirely stuffed to be honest, but just PUMPED! I was a tad hungover this morning and I couldn't have felt better after I jumped on.

I was really apprehensive because it's so huge in our little house but glad we made the decision to get it. It's so much better for me that running or even walking... I can do it for longer than thirty seconds without wanting to keel over from pain! Low impact on the joints and oh totally the best.

    Just wanted to share!

Woohoo! Awesome CM I have a cross-trainer too and it's bloody fantastic! Love the low-impact and even better I can jump on it when the weather outside is bad.

Cheers - keep up the good work!

Mine was exxy but we got it on a payment plan thingy... That said I couldn't care less about the $$$ cos I know I would spend every cent to lose this weight. I just knew I wasn't buying something from K-Mart again and didn't have the cash outright to go to a fitness warehouse. So we probably went the more expensive route but I feel good about it so it's sort of 'whatever'.

It's so great Mel, it's like gliding on it, but you're working out so it doesn't hurt as much. Just the exercise part hurts I think it's most akin to cycling without the sore backside!

ETA: Mak we went through GoFit. It's like a hire-purchase agreement thing. Pay as you go but interest free. They use Certegy Ezi-Pay as their financers. Ours is $1799 over 30 months. I have seen them starting at around $800 at fitness stores and $300ish at K-Mart. I found almost the one we have on a fitness website for $1699. Im still pretty gobsmacked that I agreed to pay that much but i would do it to shift our weight (80kg between the two of us)

Thanks - I agree any $$ spent that gets result is worth it! I have been caught by buying cheapo versions which then of course don't get used - so sensible choice I reckon. DH and I have some kg to shift too - you are definitely not on your own there!

    Sounds like a good choice.
I have been tring to rent equipment here but to be honest its minimal range and ancient stuff, not going to the gym until i am a bit fitter. I have a bad back and knee issues also and um yep big boobs so in a nut shell im a mess.lol

I love cross trainers, and the personal trainer I see once a week recommends the cross trainer to treadmill for my exercise on the other days. She says it's a better workout and is more efficient at getting my heart rate up, which means more calory buring.

Does anyone know if you can use a cross-trainer when pregnant? I'm fairly newly pregnant and have one but I've been too scared to use it 'just in case'. I think it should be ok, coz it's not high impact, especially if I take it slowly??? I asked my gp about exercise and she recommends walking for the first 3 months, but I forgot to ask about the crosstrainer.

What would you do??? Would you still use it???

cross trainers are really great if you have knee problems, its really soft on the joints.

Sharon, I'd see no worries with using one while pregnant - just keep it light if you're new to exercise or moderate if you're a seasoned fitness gal!

I always recommend clients to the cross trainer over the treadmill (90% of the time anyway)...

Sharon, you should be fine. The cross trainer is low impact. The main concern when exercising while pregnant is raising your body temp and heartrate so just make sure you take it easy. If you go the same pace as you would walking you should be fine.

I find it tough to do two days in a row at the moment, yesterday i was on and stuffed after five minutes. doesn't help that DS came out and started climbing onto the table so i might try and do 10+10 one day and just 10 the next until my body gets used to it but yep i love it!
