Present for daycare birthday party?

There is a birthday 'party' with invites for my DS at daycare on Monday. We got 2 days notice. Apparently they will be giving goodie bags to the kids.

Should I get a birthday present for the girl? She is turning 5. DS doesn't play or interact with her as she is almost 2 years older than he is and "she is yicky 'cause she's a girl" .

Any input would be great as I only have a day to get the present if I should get one!

So is the party at daycare? If it is, then I wouldn't worry about getting her a present, especially if he doesn't play with her. There's always birthday parties happening at Nina's kindy, but very rarely are gifts exchanged. Only if it's one of Nina's good friends that she interacts with often.

I would get something inexpensive - maybe a colouring/activity book, some hairclips, a bracelet or crafty thing like a ring/bracelet/hairclip making kit

I think thats awful that they are sending invites when its at daycare where they have to be anyway. I know when the girls were at preschool they banned that kind of thing. Sure you can bring in cakes for a birthday but not send out invites and make out like its a party and get gifts.
I wouldn't get her anything.

I won't get a present for her. To be honest, I don't even know which child she is so I have no idea what she is into anyway.

No you dont need to get her anything for her birthday. Especially since they dont play with eachother. But if you feel a little guilty about it, I would just get her a book or hair bands etc etc
