I'll start off by introducing us:

I'm mollycat - and my bub is Matilda.

Matilda was born on 22/12/09 at 2.11pm - weighing in at 2930gms (6lb4oz). She is just gorgeous, and is beginning to sleep longer between feeds, we're mostly up to 3-4 hour sleeps. Matilda has two much older big brothers, who just adore her and are a wonderful help.

Looking forward to meeting other mums/dads & bubs of this baby buddy group.

    Hi Mollycat.
I had my DS2 on 18 Dec. He is a good little guy so far, and we are trying to settle into things. DS1 is only 18mo and it is not easy, especially after a c-sect birth.

Look forward to getting to know you and any other late Dec babies. xo

    hello ladies

i am here with our new DD Maree who was born at home unexpectedly in teh bathroom on 29th dec 09. weighing 3.69kg (8lb 1oz) and has been doing 4-5 hours between feeds and sleeping for 6-7 hours over night so very happy considering she is only 4 days old and is gaining weight beautifully.
she is fully BF so far and i had one day i had to fully express as i engorged so bad when my milk came in but seems it has settled down and she is re attaching nicely now.

oh i know its tough chasing a toddler and a new born as well. how does your little one cope with the new baby?
DD1 is just smitten its HER baby if you ask her lol.

Hi everyone, my darling daughter was born on Dec 17th at 2980g. She is exclusively breastfed and now weighs 4.5kg, is wonderfully easy at night time, and a little too interested in the world to ever consider a day time nap.
I intend to start using a skipping rope and dumbells to get back to pre-pregnancy shape and fitness! How is everyone else going with that?

    Hi Ladies!

Most of you know me but I will tell my little story anyway...

My DD2 Annabelle was born on the 16th of December weighing 2900g. Annabelle was born with a hole in the heart and coarctation of the aorta which were repaired by open heart surgery at 6 days old, she was discharged from hospital when she was 16 days old with a NGT for feeding, it has been 10 days since we removed her NGT and 7 days since she has been exclusivly breastfeeding, I am also expressing 4 times a day for my DD1 Matilda who is fed via NGT. Annabelle lost alot of weight due to her surgery and was discharged weighing 2340g, she is gaining now at a nice pace, she weighs 3450g. She is sleeping well during the day and wakes once during the night (twice every now and then).

Body and Fitness - I am 1kg below my pre-pregnancy weight, I would however like to loose another 6kg but I am in no hurry. I do have a lovely muffin top at the moment but it went down really well after I had DD1 so I am happy for it to do its thing! I am walking though and doing yoga. Overall I am really quiet happy with my post number 2 body .

Molly - You chose a wonderful name for your baby girl .

maree is doing well has put on over a kilo already, its amazing how she is so different in many ways from taylah as a baby.

    how is everyone coping?
im doing fine, maree is sleeping through most nights every 3rd por 4th night she gets up around 4 for a feed.

i start back at work in 3 weeks... ahhh scary but cant wait only doing 1 day a week for the moment

Hmmm, fitness. I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight, but still need to lose some more. I really need to get back to my proper low gi diet (pcos), I've been using our wii fit but Matilda seems to know when I'm on it, and chooses that moment to need a feed or a cuddle, which is ok if someone else is at home (at least for the cuddle part of it) so I'm only getting 10 mins here and there, better then nothing I guess, and if she keeps up her current routine I should be able to get out for a walk before she wakes.

Matilda is basically sleeping through at night, she goes down between 10-11pm and wakes about 6.30am which really suits us as often our alarm goes off between 5 and 7am depending on Dh's work. We're getting some beautiful smiles and I'm sure she's trying really hard to giggle, it's so cute to watch. She has both her brothers wrapped around her little fingers, they are so wonderful with her.

I'm back at work next week which luckily I work from home doing family day care, I'm going back to 5 days a week (before she was born I cut down to 4). Not real sure how I'll go, but financially we need me to work, so I've got no other choice. On the plus side I've got only 5 kids coming in, but they're spaced out over the 5 days and they are returning so I've had them before and know them well.

Feed time, so I'd better post this.

how are you ladies juggling the working/mum life?
don't know how you do it.
We have just moved house (hooray, our old place was really old, small and nowhere suitable to let DD roll around) and it's still all a shambles. Amazing how long it's taking me to get everything in its right place. Definitely time to get the friends and family to entertain DD while I run around the house.
I'm 1kg over my pre-pregnancy weight, and pretty satisfied, though my body looks a bit different. I think it's my stomach muscles.
And I'm enjoying the 3mnth stage, DD is cooing and smiling and giggling, and I am so much better at reading all her cues.

It's been such a long time since anyone posted here, I thought it might be a good idea to do an update on our bubs since they are now about 5mths old.

Matilda has had a few up and downs. We had issues with her screaming each evening and it finally got the better of me and I rang the after hours GP service at our local hospital, they were absolutely wonderful and got me straight in to see the nurse and a doctor. When she was weighed we found out she had only put on 2gms in about 3 weeks, so she was probably screaming because she was starving. I started comp feeding that night and we've had no more screaming sessions since. She started with a 120ml bottle (which she'd only drink about 100mls) late afternoon and then another one in the evening after having a b/feed each time. She has since put on about 700gms in about a month (and finally hit the 5kg mark). I've just started her on a 240ml bottle for her evening comp feed in the hope that she might sleep a little longer, although that hasn't worked yet, sometimes she will only drink about 150mls.

I gave myself a really hard time at the start with this as I really wanted to exclusively breast feed for at least 6 months and b/feed for at least 12 months. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I work really long hours (9.5hrs each day/5 days a week) and even though I work from home I still have a lot to get through after hours as well, with family commitments, job training, housework, etc, etc, that if Matilda needs these comp feeds, then so be it. Her health is more important.

She is rolling from front to back, and will roll onto her side from her back, so hopefully not to much longer before she rolls completely. She loves watching the day care children, and seeing her face light up on Monday morning when the first children arrive is so cute - she obviously misses them of a weekend.

I am just starting to put away some of her 000's, but most of her 00's hang off her, she is really tiny. I'll have her weighed again on Saturday, which is her 5mth birthday, it will be interesting to see where she is now.

How is everyone else's little ones going?

    Hi Guys!
Thought I could join this thread, if you didn't mind? I had my bub, Inayah, on December 20 after a 28 hour labour. Very long, and traumatic, but I got to birth vaginally without the use of instruments, which was a plus She's now a thriving nearly 6 month old, its amazing how quickly time flies! Hope to hear from you! Take care!
