Unhappy Going for a check up!

Well to make a looong story short (some of you might remember) Before i had Miss B we looked at having to put our beloved Dog down - well about 17mths later we still have him.... but he is going for a check up today at 12 as we have ran out of the strong painkillers he has been on! DH has decided that if his condition is getting worse than this time we will say goodbye!
I can't go with them to the vet im too much of a sook and it won't do Gus any good if he see's me getting upset! im dreading DH comming home without him! But we always said for Gus it was quality of life not quantity!
I just can't accept the fact that we may have to end his life for him instead of him doing it naturally by himself!

Oh hun, it's always difficult when a pet comes to the end of their life. But I'm sure they have had a fantastic life with you, and I'm sure you know that it's always better to have them put to sleep before they start suffering too much, I'm sure your doggy knows and appreciates that you guys will do what is right for him.

okay yay!!! Gus is home - however have been told that next time when his drugs run out he won't be comming home - his dosage has doubled and its now every night - he is also on some other drug every night aswell.
When the drugs run out everything will be increased again and he will need monthly injections - so the vet said being winter (when the drugs should run out) it would most likely be best for him if we didnt bring him home!
