What are you guys cooking today?
I'm making caramel slice. I've never done it before, but the recipe looked so easy (and it's a long standing favourite treat!).
Last night I made honey icecream. I haven't had it since I was under 10yo. It used to come in a roll (looked like those rolls of dog food! ), and it was always our favourite as kids. Never seen it in my adult life.
And I might make more cupcakes today. Decorating with blue butter cream, and wilton's Dino Bits spinkles... I'm still making 'it's a boy' cupcakes!
I love Sunday baking but haven't done too much recently (new baby). Made jam drop biscuits with DD and prior to that was a zucchini cake which was rather nice! And pumpkin scones before that (channeling Flo).
What recipe do you use for cupcakes? A basic one or a fancy one?
A fairly basic one out of Crabapple Bakery Cupcake Cookbook. It comes out so light & fluffy, my mum & DH couldn't believe it wasn't a packet mix!
I also learned that as simple as Caramel Slice is, stay off the forum until you have finished cooking the caramel - or you have to start again.
I tried pumpkin scones last week, but I don't think I mixed them in enough & ended up with orange bricks. tasted nice, but texture sucked - like all my scones. lol!
Yummo! My problem with baking is I have to send it to work with DH otherwise I eat it all, lol!
We made zucchini slice, banana cake, anzac bikkies and honey joys this week. x
That's the cupcake recipe I use too Entreat! They are so fluffy and yum, aren't they? Funnily enough the pumpkin scones were the best ever I made. I will try and find the recipe- I think it was a WW cookbook. And yes, you do have to stand with caramel, and nuts too that you are trying to roast ie pine nuts. I am doing a zucchini slice this afternoon...
