    They runined my hair!

i am a natural brunette but have had dyed blonde hair with nice foils and stuff for years

wanted a change and found a great pic of the colour it was a red/light brown with highlights and a little darker underneath

went to get it done 230 bucks later i have dark drak black brown hair .

i HATE it and they kept saying it was like the pic when it clearly is not
i have washed it 5 times it has not faded at all

What do i do? i hate the colour and i want nice hair for the birth photos lol

should i go bck and try and get them to fix it for free( limited money bubs on way)

or dye it myself? then i would need to pre lightlen before i could dye wouldnt i?

Don't try and colour it yourself. Because it's gone so dark, it may take a bit to get it lighter. You'll need to go back to the hairdresser to try and get it fixed.

Hi, thats terrible that you didnt get wha you wanted!
im pretty sure that if you arent happy with what they have done, they should fix it, for free, or at little cost, im sure someone else who knows more will be in to tell you, but dont try and do it yourself.
I hope you get your hair back the way you wanted. x

Complain. That is shocking. I hate it when hairdressers do that crap. I had one girl once tell me I would look good with blonde "highlights" I came out and my hair was blonde and red and wirey and horrible. Needless to say I told them to fix it and I never went there again and promptly told EVERYONE never to go there.

I would go back and speak to the manager.
Hairdressers are usually pretty good when a customer is not happy but bear in mind you still may not get what you want.
    Good luck

You should go back in and complain and have it fixed!!! I am a hairdresser and always have been told no matter what the customer must be happy!!! In the meantime try bi-carb soda dishwashing liquid and head and shoulders mixed together you will be surprised how quickly it strips the colour!!! But def go back and say you are not happy!!!

I know the feeling of ruined hair

Once a girl cut my hair really short, I have long hair and asked for 1 inch to be taken off, not 3!!! and I went home and cried, another time I ruined it myself when I acidently grabed a permanant colour instead of the semi I had been putting in... This was only 5 weeks before my wedding... Lordy Lord, I cried for a LONG time

In the 1st instance I went back and complained to the manager and they offered me a free hair cut next time but I told them I would never go back anyway so 'thanks for nothing' iykwim.

The 2nd time I went into hairhouse warehouse and told them what I had done and they gave me a straight colour to dye over my hair with, told me how long to put it in for and by the wedding it will be my natural colour... On the day it was 'perfect' that girl is now my hairdresser!

I'd recommend going back, speaking to the manager, showing them the pic and at the very least they should give you your money back. If you wouldbe happy for them to fix it that is an option too.

    Goodluck

I had something similar happen last year ... i tried to convince myself i could get use to it but i just keep going to the bathroom checking & more checking to the point i was feeling physically sick ... so bit the bullet and rang my hairdresser and she said " OMG i rather you tell me that your NOT HAPPY then not tell me at all ... and YES YES we can fix it " ... and she did & at NO CHARGE

I had something similar happen just 2 weeks before Anelise was born. I wanted to go slightly darker as at the time I was blonde and I didn't want to have to bother too much with regrowth. So the hairdresser & I agreed on a colour that was perfect and I was to have some caramel & light blonde foils to blend everything in.
Anyway, the main colour they used came out close to being black. I was told it would fade and I would need to go back in 4 weeks to have it touched up. It hasn't faded. My regrowth is noticeable because it is lighter than the dark and it is horrific. I haven't had the time to go and sit in a chair for hrs on end to have it all done again. PITA.
I did complain when I was there but they told me it would fade and all would be fine. I guess looking back now they were taking advantage of the fact that I was due to have a bub around the time the 'fading' was meant to happen and would have other things on my mind apart from my hair. I will never go back to them again for colouring.

I hope you get yours corrected for free and it comes out perfect

I'm going into see them tomorrow - i tired to be happy with it and get used to it but i just cant as its not what i wanted , it took me ages to get the nerve to go from light to darker and they ruined it .

there is no highlights ,the colour is so much darker than the picture i took in, i mean i didnt expect it to me exactly like the pic but at least similar which it is not.

ITs something i could have done myself with a packet dye thats how it looks yuck

I hope they are nice and want to help me out

Shel, tell them just what you just said there that you didn't expect it to be exactly the same but something similar you would have been happy with !!
That way they can't use the tactic of saying Well we can't do it the exact same.

... um, i'm gonna sound evil here but look more stressed then you feel when you are telling them and tell them because your unhappy with the colour result it has stressed you out heaps and that all you won't be able to get your hair done for a very long time as you have a baby on the way.

Hey, no ones gonna knock back a stressed out looking heavily pregnant woman

All the best, you never know you might to be pleasantly surprised with the outcome tomorrow, it might turn out like my situation when the hairdresser was very understanding and i was put at ease and i was so glad i went back to say i was unhappy with the result and in turn walked out not only looking great but feel great too

    They so didnt get it

i went back they still looked at the pic and my hair and thought what they did matched the pic which it clearly does not and everyone else iv shown has agreed with me

but they were willing to put some free foils in whoch they did and it doesnt make a diff lol

i will not be going back there- not sure what to do now, maybe go somewhere ekse and get some foils i dunno, so annoying

oh Shel i feel sooo darn pi$$ed off for you right now , ... must be crappy hairdressers that's all i can say.

Yeh, ya right just gonna have take it down as bad experience (i think sadly most of us have copped that at some stage) ... and yep lose of dosh$ and go to another hairdresser and i would explain to the NEW hairdresser what has happened as funny enough hairdressers don't might taking on a challenge where other hairdressers have failed, i guess it gives them an opportunity as a hairdresser to shine with their talent.

And don't worry believe me the next hairdresser will make that much more effort for you to be happy with the result

(i've had a dabble in the hairdresser industry so that's where my comment stems from )
