How is everything going? How are you finding adjusting to a new bubba?
Caryanah is just beautiful. Fantastic feeder, sleeping really well - I am co-sleeping with her for the moment (not going to happen past the first few weeks) and then we'll teach her to sleep in her cot.
My 23 month old is not sure how he feels about his baby sister - but he's getting better as the days go on.
Elliott is simply divine also a fabulous feeder and because hes prem hes constantly hungry. We are also co-sleeping also probably not for long either. He is a very very very sleepy baby thank god i need to wake to feed sometimes which i feel awful about but hes just constantly asleep.
Scooby is looking well on the monitor but my blood pressure is up and there is some protein in the urine. Waiting now for blood tests then will be checking in for induction. Eek!"
So exciting!!!!!!!!!!! looks like she may just squeeze in here soon!
I would like to join to. Galahad was born 22/2/2010 at 37wks1day weighing 7lbs3. I just got back from hospital after a 9 day stay. Finally lol. Developed pre eclampsia and ob decided to do a c/s as soon as the 37wk mark came around.
he's feeding well (sadly bottle feeding though) and he's furry lol.
"Announcing the arrival of baby boy Scooby into the world! Born at 4:57pm via emergency c.section. 3.98 kg 58cm long. Very healthy and totally gorgeous!"

Hi all...my precious boy was born 21.2.10. He had a great first week...particularly during the day, a few unsettled nights. Week 2 has been a little harder but we're doing well overall.
He lost <10% of birthweight as at day 3. I haven't had him weighed since. We have a midwife visit on Friday...fingers crossed the good stuff is chunking him up I've been waking him during the day to try and help his weight gain.

Hello dear ladies and hi to those especially from the 16-28 feb belly buddies group who sheltered me during my final fortnight!!! LOL
So pleased to be here I thought I was going to be in the March thread for a while there.
Our first baby Barnaby was born 12 days late on 27 Feb at 5pm, 3.98kg, 58cm long (huge!), via emergency c-section under general anaesthetic resulting from sudden onset pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. APGARS 3-9-10. I spent the night in intensive care - bub on the other hand was just fine and kicked back with DP as a 'boarder' in the special care nursery until I was able to be released to the maternity ward the following day.
We arrived home yesterday. Very corny thing to happen, but his cute little going home rompers and wrap had to be replaced by a plain singlet and blanket when he wet all over himself (DP's first nappy blunder!). We are just stunned to have him here with us!
Barnaby is a gorgeous little fella, and very settled. He did have about 4.5 hours last night where he didn't settle between feeds, we got a bit worried but then he was back to his usual eat-sleep-eat-sleep cuteness after that. I am suspecting the home made garlic bread which was slathered in barely cooked garlic butter had something to do with his restlessness, as he had terrible wind for a few hours! Farting like a bullhorn.
Feeding is going wonderfully, I can't describe how happy I am about that. BF was one of those things that I decided I would do anything to achieve, but I was a bit paranoid that maybe it just 'wouldn't work' or the like. So to feel so comfy with it is amazing and more than I could have dreamed. Barnaby even ate his first bit of nipple scab today LOL
We made our first trip out already this arvo, I went to the GP for whooping cough injection and we then popped into work to show off bub.. DP and I both work for the same small company and this is the first 'purebred' baby! Everyone was so proud and excited, lots of tears.
At the GP, I asked him to check my BP and it was sky high! He wants me to monitor it at home and if it stays up as high as it is, come back in a week or two to discuss medication. A bit of a worry, it is 'supposed' to drop immediately upon delivery. Other than that, I'm exhausted, sore but getting better all the time. I think the high BP is making me feel a bit weird but that could be the lack of sleep!
Sorry to make this a total 'me' post... and that this post is cut and pasted from my original belly buddies thread....! Lazy!
Look forward to getting to know you all over the coming days weeks months etc and benefitting from your experiences. Enjoy your bubs!
Hello new mummas!
AliB- welcome to your gorgeous new man good to see you in here
Proverbs Mum- Im also a young mumma im 23
anyhunz- welcome to sweet joshua how everything going?
Big hello to Gliriel, mummato2 and shar
Ali, I too was worried about BF being PCOS - but what I learned was Metformin once again is a miracle worker. I'm on 2000mg per day - but apparently only minute amounts crosses the breastmilk and it helps prolactin (yet another hormone affected by PCOS)
So we have had success this time BF - I failed with Coops, lasted one week. Didn't realise that after the engorgement, sore nipples etc it's really easy - so I'm stoked this time is going well (except the first week I got mastitis and this week a milk blister)
My goal is to at least get to 6 months with Cary on my breast and hopefully if it's an issue express for the next 6 months......we'll take it a day at a time.
*big hi to everyone else* Hope you are all enjoying the early days of mummyhood xx
