DS1 still not walking or talking and he is 20 months.

He says mumma and dadda but nothing else he babbles noises, he pushes everything around and cruises but wont walk!!

We have had a hearing test done all normal

Its so hard not to stress but just let him do his own thing.

J i was looking at this stuff recently - it's not abnormal for a baby to not say it's first word until 15months or later! i think it's hard when you have baby buddies who are doing things a lot quicker than your little man,but i don't think not talking at this point is any sort of drama

Waaaay too early to worry. DS wasn't really even talking at 2 years and now at almost 3 he can say the most amazing sentences and express himself really well. He even describes the different colours eg. a pinky purple and the like. So absolutely don't worry.

I think boys develop speech at a slower rate than girls.
DS is 19 months, he has said plently of words, I have only heard some of them once then not again for months. He babbles and has lots of baby talk, and is very good with his body language. I only think he had a handful of words at 12 months. Some books say they should have about 50 words by 18 months and 100 by 24 months.
I wouldn't be too worried just yet.

As the others have said, way to early to worry.

My DS said his first proper word at 10 months, by 17 months he was talking in 4-6 word sentences and had a vocab of about 200 words.

DS is 19 months and still only manages to get 'sounds like..." words out. But he is very expressive with his gestures and expressions that I am still not worried about him not talking. When I saw the MCHN at 18 months she said it is just so common for the boys to still not be talking at this age, but they tend to be more physically developed then the girls. She was not even worried in the slightest. She said once they start talking, they learn very quickly and it all balances out as they grow older.
