    ovulation more painful than AF....normal???

AF came back a few months ago, almost 17 months after DD was born!! The first time i thought i had appendicitis and almost went to the doctors because i had terrible pain in one side and was not period pains, two weeks later i got my first AF, so i now know it was ovulation which was so painful
Each time it is the same, terrible pain when i ovulate, i can tell which side it is and it hurts for about two days, i can hardly walk, cant pick anything up, cant put an presure on that area, pains down my legs. i actually had to go and have a lie down this morning as it was so bad, lucky DP had the morning at home!!! it hurts way more than AF its self...i never had these pains before i got pregnant.
Im wondering if this is normal or not, should i see my GP or just stop being a sook!!
    TIA

I am the same very painful ovulation. It starts days before I ovulate when I expect the egg/follical is growing and getting bigger and bigger. It gets to the point where its like I can feel something really big and uncomfortable in my ovary and it throbs, ache and sometimes even feels like it has its own pulse especially when I am ovulating (not the days before or after) after its finally happened it takes a few days to feel ok again like I am brusied inside. I had a laparoscopy to see and for other reasons and apparently I am fine. I asked the Gyno a few days ago and he said there was nothing he can do.

Perhaps its worth having an ultrasound to make sure there isn't a cyst there or something contributing to the pain but for me there is nothing just painful O.

another painful O'er here too! Sometimes its so painful I can hardly stand up! And the pain goes down my legs too. Its always been a pain (lol) for me though - its slightly worse since having babies.

If it helps my friend said she feels O now after having her baby, prior to having her baby there was no pain at all.

I have to admit I'm kind of jealous, I wish my body would give me some sign of ovulation, it would save money on OPKs and the like.

I hope the severity reduces for you.
