sore ribs, cant take full breath..any ideas?

I woke up this morning feeling like someone has kicked me fair in the ribs...
The left side is the worst, and it hurts front and back.. but the back is the more painful spot.
It hurts if i take a full breath, and i can feel the pain right down to my hip.

I havnt been to the gym or done any exercise in the last week so i dont think it would be from that.

ETA: im not sure if this has anything to do with it or not, but i might add ive been really tired lately (falling asleep on the couch etc) which i never do usually.

    Any ideas???
    TIA

Sounds like you've done your back. Although it's also symptomatic of heart problems.

Have a hot shower and do some gentle back stretches, see if that helps. Although you may need to go get checked out ...

I've strained ligaments between ribs before, and it felt similar to shat you described. But then, it wasn't a mystery - I fell off a horse!

does sound like it RR although it could also be a strained ligement or muscle from the way you're sleeping. Is breathing more difficult when lying down? Hope it gets sorted soon for you!
