    5th wedding anniversary

Our 5 year wedding anniversary is coming up. And its suppose to be a wood present. So I was thinking of getting one of his favorite photo's framed. Do you think this is an ok idea??

I want to do it, but I am not sure if its his favorite picture anymore. Do you think he would care, if its the thought that counts?

Or can you think of any other idea?

The traditional gift is something of wood... wood is strong and long lasting and the modern gift is something in silverware (jewellery maybe?). The modern gift of silverware is a reminder of the connection the two of you formed as you shared meals with each other and your children.

Not sure what else, but I think the frame is a lovely idea.
What about a tree you could plant together?

Oh I love the tree idea, but it would prob die like in a few weeks I am hopeless when it comes to keeping plants etc alive

my computer keeps eating up my post will try again!

    - wooden sign with "The Shed"or "The Bar/BBQ" etc
    - a wooden box to store stuff in, cufflinks, wedding ring, watch etc
    - a small box to store pens in on his work desk or at home. You could combine the old with the new and add a nice silver pen to the wooden box maybe?
    - photo frame like you suggested. Google for Violet Indigo. I recently ordered a wooden photo frame from them that has your names on it with your wedding date. They also have wooden puzzles on there, where you can add a message and photo. They are heart shaped though not sure if that would be what you are after.
    - If he likes to cook, maybe a really nice, large,thick/heavy/good quality wooden chopping board.
    - A wooden caddy for sauces etc when BBQing. or a (wooden) gift box of sauces/spices.
    - Wooden salt and pepper mills

Some great idea's .. thanks !!! I asked him on a sly that a friend wanted to get a picture framed and how much do you reckon it would costs and he said for that size under 100 so very happy about that, and I might get it engraved if I can, and if I go ahead with that idea.
But I also like the salt and pepper idea's coz he loves to cook
