    Very Very tired

Hello everyone, just after a bit of advice

I am finding myself utterly exhausted recently. I am exercising less than I was (lucky if I can manage once a week) because I am so tired. This is down from going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, every spare minute in fact. I wake feeling tired, by bedtime I can barely peel myself off the couch.

I am not pregnant, most definitely. Apart from the fact I have a mirena coil, my husband has had the snip and my libido went when the exhaustion kicked in anyway. But I do feel as exhausted as when I was pregnant with the twins, which is worrying me. I am sleeping well, occasionally being woken by one of the kids but more often than not they sleep through and I am used to getting up and seeing to them, then going straight back to sleep, but I am not normally this tired.

Has anyone else gone through this, and what did you do to make yourself feel better and more energised?

    T
    xx

Have you had your iron levels checked? I know when mine are low I feel really exhausted.

Is it a recent thing or an ongoing thing? Sometimes when I'm coming down with something I feel absolutely exhausted too.

I hope you get some more energy soon .

You need to go to the dr and get some blood tests done for things like iron and haem stores, thyroid, hormones etc, as there may be a really simple explanation behind it (anaemic, sluggish thyroid, viral exposure)...BUT there are also some more serious conditions which show up as tiredness so a good GP will screen to rule those out.

Next step is to take yourself along to a good naturopath or TCM practitioner, they have some fabulous herby type things to help with fatigue and exhaustion, and generally regulate your whole system to get back on track. My naturopath diagnosed me with adrenal exhaustion, I felt soooo much better after about 2 weeks on the herbs & supplements she gave me. Worth a good go.

Hey Traveller, how are you going? Any answers? (That you'd be happy to share with us of course ). I think so many of us can relate to feeling tired and exhausted, but what you described seemed to take it to a whole new level (not the every day level that most of us are on).

Hi, sorry I forgot to update

I have started taking multi-vitamins and am starting to feel human again. Of course I forgot to get my blood test results but I will be going to pick them up hopefully tomorrow so if I am iron deficient I should find out then.

how long have you had your coil in for?
it could be related to that and if it has effected your cycles..

Glad you are feeling more human I also find multivitamins help perk me up a bit.

I have also been feeling absolutely exhausted since I had my boy and, after a sleep study, I found out that I have mild sleep apnoea - just bad enough to disturb my sleep and leave me constantly fatigued. So I spend my most of my days tired and can sleep forever if given the opportunity

So if your bloods are inconclusive, the possibility of sleep disturbance may be something to explore as a cause for your tiredness.

I hope you get to the bottom of it and get some answers.

I have had the coil for almost a year, the doc suggested it because of painful, heavy periods as it tends to stop bleeding altogether. TBH if it is causing the tiredness I would probably just have to learn to live with being exhausted, as it is better than being in crippling agony 3 days out of every months, and bleeding for a further 12.
