    Hello lovely mummy's,

Good to finally to be here... Hope you are all doing well and your little ones are keeping you all busy. I know that Amelia is keeping me busy, now that I have her on Formula we are a happy little family. She is sleeping better and feeding well, it was stressing me out and I felt pressured to continue with BF even though I knew deep down she wasn't getting enough from me. Plus I was giving her the booby first then what I had expressed (max 20ml) and then topped up with formula more like a chore than me enjoying my new little baby girl.

Well time for another feed so will be back tomorrow hopefully

Oh oh! I found it!!! So can I stay even though I am theoretically 2 groups before!?!

DS and DH are sound asleep after DH did a late night shift with Louis. I feel quite good after another 3+4+3 night. Could this be a routine??? NO!!! Dont jinx it or I shall be back on the 2 hour gig.

Ayapi - good on you for choosing formula and a better quality of life for your whole family. I think there is such extraordinary pressure on woman to BF sometimes it can put a enormous pressure on the whole family unit and I wonder if anyone has studied the impact of that stress. I watched a girlfriend almost lose her mind and her relationship with poor latching, then mastitis, then thrush until she moved to formula. She still feels guilty and I think its wrong that she should at all. She carried that bub for 9 months and she is the sweetest healthiest (and happy!) wee bub now!

Anyway - I need to do some laundry. Better go.

    hi everyone
finally home from hospital which is a relief! Had an emotional few days as Lewis had to go into the incubator with the phototherapy lights for jaundice. I know there are millions of things worse that could happen but it was so hard, especially when he was upset and wanted cuddles cause all I could do was put my hand through the hole! But all is better now! I am still very sore, much prefered DD's delivery to this one!

maranui - glad you found us! We had a 3+4+3 night last night too, and i feel so much better today!

Ayapi - glad to hear you made a decision that means happy mummy, you dont need all that stress

Lewis got weighed at discharge today, and is only 50 grams off his birth weight, so my milk has well and truly come in! He has skinny little legs though, his poo keeps exploding out the side of the nappy!

    hi to everyone else!

Woohoo! Found it. Can I join Maranui in here as an illegal mummy?

BBL with more to post, but for now I wanted to ask Tan, Kellie & Ayapi how you are coping with your toddlers? Have just had a few difficult days withDD1 & have no idea how to manage it. Any advice/thoughts/suggestions most welcome!

    All illegals welcome!!

Coping with toddlers - um I am not totally sure I am! The poor tyke is bored out of his brain! The weather isn't helping much - bloomin rain, rain, rain and if it's not raining and we go outside we get eaten by mozzies.. when DF gets home from work he goes ballistic and basically runs himself ragged until bed time - which has gone from 6pm to anywhere between 8.30 and 9.30pm It seems as though as soon as we start doing something like painting or playdough Archer will become restless - we have dubbed him the kill-joy cop! He is great with Archer most of the time but have had a few incidents where Coop will pull my shirt back down or my bra up and say "no more boobies" ie: come and please play with me mummy! My biggest woe is tv guilt - he has never, ever been interested and it seems he has no surrended to the fact that nothing else is on offer and just slumps on the couch No help from me sorry... but if I think of something or find a magic spell to duplicate myself I will be happy to share!

Kellie, Archie has quite explosive #2s too! I managed to wear it the other night whilst changing him still half asleep - EEWW! He has chunky monkey thighs like mummy so none have managed to escape his nappies just yet. I have to say now in hindsight my induced labour was much more 'enjoyable' than Archer's! But alot had to do with my OB too... must get around to doing my birth story when time permits.

Maranui don't mention the "R" word it will most definately JINX you! But am curious to know if he has kept it up?! What a good lil man if he has!!

Ayapi, YAY for happy mummy and family and most importantly the lil princess! How are things going with DH being in China?

And there is no time left to write about 'us' - next post I guess!

I dont know how you guys with toddlers do it either. I think its clear we will need to go back to NZ to have family around for number 2. It's pretty hard with no support here.

Tan - He he he. I certainly jinxed it today. He feed every two hours and hasnt slept for more than an hour. He is out like a light now. Fingers crossed for tonight! Esp as I am home alone. Argggghhhhh DH has gone to Melbourne for work and its just me. I was feeling sick about it last week, but this week I actually feel ok. What's the worst that can happen - he and I awake all night in front of bad TV.......

Wish me luck. I will report back to see if his 3+4+3 works for mum tonight....

Oh no Maranui! Maybe I JINXED you by saying that sorry! I learnt quick smart with Coop that whenever I mentioned how great things were going he'd do a 180 torture me! And I know all too well that 'sick' feeling about being home alone - the life of a mumma and bubba whose daddy was only ever home for 10 weeks out of 52! And yes, late night crappy tv will see you through - good luck!

AFM taking the booby monster to get weighed today.. I know deep down he is feeding well and thriving but I still have so many "issues" (read: guilt) with not being able to successfully BF Cooper that paranoia is taking over! I know I must stop stressing as that won't help so a weekly weigh in till our pead visit at 6 weeks just to ease my mind is the path we are going down!

We just got back from our weigh in and apparently my paranoia about BFing is just that... Archer is 5.1kg that is 480g over birth weight and 660g over his day 4 discharge weight

WOOHOO for boobies... the CHN concern is that I am over feeding him pfft! He takes 10-20 minutes and than sleeps for 3-4 hours. Only hassle is of an early evening when he take 3 hours of cluster feeds but than sleep for 4-6 hours. Onto a pretty good thing atm - TOUCHWOOD TOUCHWOOD TOUCHWOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wahoooo Tan - and go go Cooper greedy guts He is a wooper! I am hoping for 4kg with Louie this afternoon when we get weighed. Wonder if we can bust through 10th percentile this time

My evening was great! He went down at half 7, then feeds at 12 and 4. Yay! It's been a huge confidence boost. Now all I need to do is get over my phobia of the car! He screams in the Turnatot car set we got him so now I have rented a capsule! Lets see how that goes.

I'm a bit worried about my boobs. They are super tingly and I feel a bit "glandy" in my armpits. I am hoping it is just discomfort from the contorted positions that I need to get in to so he has a good mouthful Have taken some ibuprofen just in case....

I know what you mean about guilt Tan - I feel guilty for some reason or another most of the time. Mothers guilt! Enough milk, too much. Enough stimulation, too much. Breastfeeding him to sleep (he does it himself not me intentionally) vs Feed, Play, Sleep. It goes on and on.......cripes.

Better run. Logistics ahead as we head out. I can tell my confidence is slowly increasing though - my appetite is back - jeopardising the weight loss. Oh dear.

PS. Louie rolls himself over. He has done it 3 times which makes the change table a dangerous thing. That seems seriously weird and early for a bub with little neck control. I am going to ask about that this arvo too. Does anyone know?

The more the merrier I say Phoenix - WELCOME! Technically I think Kellie is the only one who qualifies for this thread thus far - correct me if I am wrong ladies - but the thought of leaving each other after 9 long months was too sad so here we are.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your princess! When time permits I can't wait to here about your lil bundle!

Maranui you have a mover and shaker hey! Never underestimate what infants can do - when Coop was about 4 months old he had a fall from the cot. I still have noidea to this day how he managed it: didn't realise he had the upper body strength to hurl himself over but obviously he was capable!!!! How did his weigh in go - bizarre to think I have a 90% > off the chart child! I was talking to my mum and she reckons she still has mother's guilt 30 years down the track - like that is what I wanted to hear woman!!

Don't think I will get back online until next week with us QLDers having another long weekend.... there are bbq's to be had!! Have a good one y'all!

Phenoix of course you can join Welcome.....

So i finally got time to jump on the computer!! Now bub is back on boobie rather than me having to express I have like about 6 hours extra today that i haven't had the last couple Got first GP appt Tuesday so we will see if bub is getting enough milk - i should have plenty cuz i've expressed almost enough the last two days and increased expressing yesterday to get more now.... however bub keeps falling asleep while drinking and then my boobs are really full for ages *sigh* it never ends!! I feel so out of control now though - cuz from expressing i knew how much he was getting and wanted and drank..... now i have no idea!!!
Still super hungry though - seems like bub is still taking all my food!!!!
Anyway just really wanted to subscribe... got lots of cleaning/washing to do.... man i didn't realise little boys like to pee and poo everywhere all the time!! every second nappy change i swear he waits till i move the nappy and have just cleaned him up and then *pffft* out comes more poop and then *weeeeee*...... i had to get rid of most of my 0000 bonds suits cuz he was too big so i lost alot of clothes i had which sucks... but i did buy some cute little boy outfits now i know what he is!! hehe....

Hope you are all well xxx

Way to go Kirley and Will! We are in 00 territory just about and only just have Archie in MCNs as of today - had bought a box of newborn sposies and figured I had better use them before he out grew them - have about 20 odd nappies not used! at the pee and poo! I put a wipe under A's butt before I take the soiled nappy away - he is quite the opportunist too and would gladly poo all of his poor mumma if given the chance. Saves having to change the cover on the change table every few hours too!

    Hey guys!

Send your 0000 south to me Louis just missed his weight by coming in at 3.966!!!! I should have given him a feed before the weigh! All looking good though. A good 700g gain.

Kirley - Remember to point the penis south! I dont know how many loads of washing I would have avoided if I had just remembered to do that!

Welcome Phoenix - thought as Tan said - there are quite a few illegals here (esp me with Louis born on 27 March!!!

Better run. Boobs are bursting and boy is stirring!

Love to you all. Have a great weekend.
    xx
